Museum of Natural History

Reviewed By Q7840EUdanl - Bunbury, Australia

So glad that we decided to visit the Museum of Natural History, it is home to one of Australia's foremost taxidermists and many fine examples of his art are on display. So lifelike. The exhibits are expansive and probably deserve a larger premises to reduce crowding. The room is packed with examples and heads of animals and other fauna rarely if ever sighted, even in zoos. We septuagenarians thoroughly enjoyed our visit, just a shame that our youngest grandchildren were not with us so that we could enjoy their wonder.

Incredible opportunity to view classic cars from many different eras & areas of the world. There is a lot to see and things are well spread out. We spent 90 minutes there but could easily have been there for 3 hours. Each car tells a story. We might have benefitted from a guided tour if those had been available but really enjoyed it nonetheless. If you know any gearheads take them here!

Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Park

Reviewed By Wesjomin - South Perth, Australia

What an amazing art gallery ,Couldn't believe such a wonderful building existed and I count myself fortunate that I have actually seen some outstanding artists work. The sculptures in the grounds were very unusual, some small but others huge! Allow yourself at least an hour to wander around the grounds and the gallery.

Colonial Gaol and Taylor’s Cottage

Reviewed By Q7840EUdanl - Bunbury, Australia

Fantastic that a number of old buildings from the original complex have been retained, they truly display a window of the past. We had a wonderful lady as our guide, a font of knowledge on all things historical for the area and the artefacts displayed. We always marvel at the relics of the past, a lot we are conversant with as they were used until the mid 1900's in Ireland and the UK. I even had practical experience on some while a youth on the farm. I think the entre fee paid was $10 for both of us, a pittance for the enjoyment of seeing the exhibits and being regaled with pioneering history of the district and the former uses of the buildings.
