I visited with my 19 y/o daughter in JAN 2020. If I were to do this again, I would not do the 8-day, but would book my own accommodations, transportation within Lima, Cusco, and Agua Calliente. I would do a 1 day Sacred Valley tour from Cusco. I would uber it to Otallatambo, and take the train to/from Agua Calliente, to visit Machu Picchu. I would book my own bus service from Cusco to Puno. The bus from Cusco to Puno was supposed to have wifi, and a bathroom, but it did not. I would book a 1 day Lake Titicaca tour from Puno. I did not like the hotels in Lima or Cusco, but really did like the hotel in Puno. It was in a great location. We were often waiting on tour transportation that was running late. There were several occasions that I considered getting an uber, rather than risking missing our next train or flight due to transportation running late. On one occasion, the driver was an hour late picking us up, and he was speeding and dangerously passing cars on the wrong side of the road as it was pouring rain through the mountains. I called out that driver and told him that it was unsafe, and directed him to slow down so that we made it to the train station alive, even if we miss our train. When booking, I thought that Machu Picchu and Lima were going to overshadow everything else. However, the experiences at Lake Titicaca, the Sacred Valley, and Cusco were a pleasant surprise. I see myself returning to Cusco and the Sacred Valley rather than Lima. This was an amazing experience, but I believe that it would be even better if the same places were visited, but 1 day "tours" were taken of the Sacred Valley and Lake Titicaca.

We spent three terrific days in Colca Canyon with a private guide from Perou Voyage. Breathtaking scenery, informative and fun hikes, condors galore, good food and surprises in town, a unique home stay on a small farm - it was a densely rewarding experience and for me the highlight of our trip to Peru.

2 Day Nazca Lines and Ballestas Islands On this Nazca Lines and Ballestas Islands 2 days tour, we will travel to Paracas and Nazca towns. Paracas and its ballestas islands represent the diversity of marine life on this side of the Pacific Ocean. The Ballestas Islands are a group of rocky islands located off the Pacific coast of Peru at only 3 hours ride from Lima. Nicknamed "The Poor Man's Galapagos", the islands are fantastic place to observe wildlife as they are home to thousands of birds, mammals including penguins, sea lions, pelicans and dolphins. Finished our touring boat in the Ballestas islands, you will travel to Nazca a few hours away from Paracas. Nazca town is famously well known for its impressive and enigmatics drawn lines on the dessert. No one knows exactly what the Nazca lines were used for and are vast theories about it but still it remains a mystery which still open to wide range of interpretations even from aliens interventions on site.

Inclusions: Breakfast, All Transfers in/out to the bus station - hotel, Ballestas Island tour, 1 nigth accommodation at (3*** San Agustin Paracas or Similar standard)

Exclusions: Meals that are not stated otherwise, Airport taxes ($10 USD), Tips, Over flight on Nazca Lines

First off, the directions: their offices are on the 3rd floor of a cluster of office that can be reached by a door near the Inka Grill Restaurant. I arrived in Cusco not sure if I had time for Machu Pichu, and certainly with nothing booked in advance. Language was a bit of a barrier and I did not have a good feeling about the touts on Plaza de Armas offering tours. Instead I looked up reviews on Google and I'm so glad I was directed to Valencia. I showed up to the office and spoke with Rene, who was extremely friendly and honest. He basically told me their business is primarily inbound and focused on foreign partners and word of mouth - meaning they don't need to go out and get customers. As a result they focus on honest service at a modest markup. Anyway, given my time constraints, Valencia Tours got me set up for a Cusco-AquaCalientes-MachuPichu-Cusco trip for the very next day. On such short notice they got the tickets and clearances arranged. I paid slightly more than I was quoted elsewhere, but not much. And given how much more trustworthy they were, I felt completely at ease. The logistics for everything were laid out perfectly, there were no suprises and I knew exactly how much I spent and would have to spend for non included expenses. The 3 star hotel they included in AquasCalientes was above my expectation. Most importantly, I got the Macchu Pichu, had an amazing guide and weather, and made it back to Cusco in tile for my flight to Lima. Overall, a great experience. Recommend.

I loved my Machu Pichu travel and especially the tour agents who helped with my transport between places.I particularly liked their help with transport. My trip was a 3 day from usa and never did I miss any planned attraction. The hotel accommodation at machu pichu could have been better for the price value but I felt transport/tour agents justified it.

Where do I start? I’m a solo traveler who booked a ticket to Peru 4 days before the flight and I’ve never been to South America and nor can I speak Spanish which made me anxious. Peru Hop was the first company I contacted via email and they have been super helpful!! From all the communication, the arrangements, Peru hop made it so so easy!! It’s not like the hop on hop off buses in Europe, this is a tour full of experiences and I’m always skeptical for paying to travel around but this is well worth it. More importantly the guides were great in particular Ricardo!! This guy made me feel so welcomed, talked to me like we’ve know each other for ages. He answered all my questions, made enquirer for me, and looked after me. Alex have such good insight to the national reserve. I met wonderful people and had the best time of my life. I’m booking Peru Hop again for Cusco to lake titicaca. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to share how good they were.

This is the second tour that we have booked through Viator and we had an amazing time. We felt that it was well organized, covered much of the country and apart from one situation where the driver was late, we had no issues. Yes, the hotels are 3-star but they are in great locations, often very close to the city center. Lenin was generally accessible and very helpful. On the day we arrived in Aguas Calientes, we wanted to go to Machu Picchu that afternoon in addition to the planned trip the next day. Lenin made all the arrangements so we could pick up our entry tickets right at the entry of Machu Picchu and also sent us PDFs for the bus tickets. We did make one change to the itinerary that turned out to be a very good change. As the tour involves a fair amount of travel by bus, we took a flight from Puno (Juliaca) to Cusco instead of a bus. I would recommend making this change as it is a very long trip by bus. Also, be aware of altitude sickness as it is real. Overall, a once in a lifetime trip as we were celebrating my sister's retirement and Lenin and his team made it very nice for us.

We had 2 nights in the Amazon at Amazona Posadas. We packed in a lot to very little time. The lodge was beautiful and very comfortable, food was excellent. Our guide was very good but seemed a bit disinterested at times. Very knowledgeable. We then went to Cusco, had a walking tour and cooking class. Our new guide, Albero was excellent. Our cooking class with Jesus was fun, very accommodating. We then moved on to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Highly recommend the hike at MP Mountain. Our guide was very supportive and patient! Next we then went to the Rainbow Mountain. Unfortunately, though I requested we NOT go to Vinicunca, that is where we were taken. It was very beautiful, but very crowded. I did not understand why we did not go to Palcoyo. Was told later it was not accessible due to landslides. This may have been the case, but was unhappy about the lack of transparency prior to embarking. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and grateful to have completed it before the travel restrictions were set in place for the COVID pandemic.

The city tour was AWFUL. Our guide Diego was unprofessional, our van had 15 people and NO ac or windows he didn’t seem concerned that we were all uncomfortable. Rather he sat up front with the driver listening to music and didn’t interact with the clients. There were very few times during the hour car rides when he would point anything out at all; and when we asked questions he gave minimal responses. His knowledge on the sites appeared limited and he majority of topics circled back to global warming or aliens. He shouldn’t have this job. Period. The entire group was disappointed, at least we were all able to connect through that. He wasn’t physically able to Guide us through some of the physical sites, as a result we were received minimal information about these areas. So incredibly disappointed. We had a great experience with the trekking portion with Fredy Zapata, please see post on that.
