We had a guided tour arranged by our holiday tour operator. We were so glad we did , as you would not know much after. The ride was very exciting, but make sure you confirm the price for outgoing and returning. The lake is full of Lotus flowers in the summer. Tinh Tam Lake was where the Emperors came to relax, also popular with students who also come here to study.

We spent 13 days in Southeast Asia with our adult daughter, which included a wonderful cruise on the Mekong Navigator. The ship was fantastic. It’s design in French Colonial and was impeccable. We had a Vista Suite, which was one of the simpler suites, but still better than premium suites on other ships. A key to this ship is it was all inclusive and they meant it. Unlike other “all inclusive” travel we’ve had before, all the meals, plus local beer and quality wine, were all included as were all the excursions. While on board we found out that this was the first sailing under Lotus. Though the ship has always been owned by Lotus, it had been contracted by Uniworld, but now sails as a Lotus Cruise ship. I’m not sure how the staff could have been better than the crew we had. Our wait staff were All pleasant. All attentive. We celebrated my wife’s birthday on board. That morning I asked our cruise director if we could get something special. That evening there was a gourmet chocolate, made from scratch by the kitchen staff. It didn’t just look good; it was a delightful cake. In our cabin, the room was always taken care of, beer and soft drinks always in the fridge, and you only asked once for something and the rest of the trip it was there…extra towels, blanket, and a choice of four different kinds of pillow. We had people on board from the USA, Australia, Germany, Italy, South Korea and India. Ages from 23-75. Do we recommend the Lotus Cruses and the Mekong Navigator…absolutely!

I travelled to Vietnam twice under the facilitation of Sơn, last December and the past September. Both trips are equally memorable and eye-opening, leading to two (2) immensely fantastic and awesome traveling experience! The first day on the first tour features a short and sweet introduction and tour around on Ho Chi Minh City by Sơn, after a short settle down where he led us to our accommodation for the next two (2) days: a very welcoming and homey Mandarin homestay, a place which he was born, nurtured and spent his entire lifetime on! Our next station includes the floating market (Chợ Nổi Long Xuyên), Bassac river (Sông Hậu), fruit garden (those tropical fruits are REALLY tasty!) and traditional shipyard. These places are not typical tourist attractions, but visiting them under Sơn's facilitation has enabled us to simply chill out, turn on our exploration mode to enjoy the culture, lifestyle and vibe of Vietnam. His effort on putting up such an atypical yet satisfying exploration experience on Vietnam dailies deserved much appreciation, and I cannot recommend him enough for those who are interested in a trip to Vietnam. Due to the wonderful experience in the first trip, my friend and I decided to travel Vietnam with Sơn once again. This time, he customizes for us a more personal and tailored-to-our-taste tour, featuring the scenic mountain town, Da Lat, famous with its French colonial style architecture, peaceful and laid-back atmosphere along with its chilly cool, breezy weather. Everything was pleasantly well-organized for us, along with an outstanding and comfortable agenda. Our meals, accommodation and transportation are well sorted out and prepared, assuring a smooth schedule even before our first concern. This time, our visitation includes tea garden, flower garden, coffee farm, Linh Phouc Pagoda (Chùa Linh Phước) an architectural mosaic temple and some local cuisine restaurant. Everything was nice and comfy. We are fortunate to meet Sơn and booked his tour. He is a person who is passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable on his job. He feels proud and takes pride on his country and people, while being generous and always ready to share his knowledge and passion about himself, and his country. Just got back from a marvelous luxury 7 day cruise from Cambodia to Saigon on the Mekong Princess, through A&K. Can't say enough about the fine attention we got from the crew, our beautiful and spacious Tonlee Suite,the fine food at all meals, and the overall experience.
