While we have been going to Nice for decades, this was our first time exploring a bit of the commuter town on the other side of the river. Our last night before flying home, we were staying at a local motel and resigned to a less than premium dining experience. The long restaurant row along the shore contains plenty of bars, ethnic spots and rather generic places that seem to cater to every taste.Relying on TA reviews and our own instincts and experience, we were drawn to Sant'Ana. The daily menu, the ambiance and the friendly staff made us feel we would be having a well crafted meal. This is a high quality restaurant with considerable skill in preparing seafood. We had some lovely beignets of zucchini blossoms and a very generous seafood paella This is a moderately expensive restaurant, but well worth it. It is as good as many restaurants we have patronized in NIce proper for many years. It is good enough to make us consider staying in the same locale at the end of future trips. It was refreshing to have a really professional waiter who kept our wine glasses full.

We arrived last evening at 8:15 and was told to come back at 9 o'clock. When we arrived at 9 o'clock it was clear there was not a table ready for us and the restaurant was very crowded and hot.It took ages to even get a menu (30 minutes) and then another 10 minutes to get a drink.We ordered spaghetti bolognese and two pizzas. When the spaghetti Bolognese arrived it was actually served with penne and which was cold and just a small serving of Bolognese â disgusting.The pizzas were average.We could not wait to get out of there as it was hot and claustrophobic.The service was extremely slow â we shall not be going back there again.We did also visit this establishment in March and one of our dishes contained frozen prawns and we were prepared to give it a second try but we will definitely not be visiting again!The staff were completely disorganised and we could see that they were arguing in the kitchen!In al a very disappointing and unpleasant evening.

A great find for wonderful food. Overlooking the sea, we had a fabulous lunch recently. My swordfish was cooked to perfection, with all my favourite accompaniments - fresh salsa, delicious ratatouille and a creamy risotto. My husbands Angus steak brochettes were amazing, again cooked to perfection. In fact I want to return just to order those myself! Friendly staff and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

Food here was amazing, and variety was great. They cook food that they buy same day on market - so everything is always fresh. We were bigger group (20), and they managed to accommodate us, and literally everyone in the group was extremely satisfied with food. Strong recommendation for anyone in Nice!

This used to be a wonderful restaurant but no more. We started with gravalax of dorade. Very small amount of dorade all cucumber. My main of fricasee of squidWas inedible.sent it back and ordered chicken as my husband said his was reasonablebut they gave me 4 small pieces of chicken and no potatoes which my husband had.Will not returnBonsoir monsieurEn venant chez nous, vous ne saviez pas que le propriétaire avait changé. Morgane la responsable de salle vous la indiqué avant la prise de commande, vous avez pensé revoir l'ancien propriétaire. Déjà à ce moment bien precis votre attitude avez bien changé. Donc comment pouvez vous être objectif sur la qualité de la nourriture qu'on vous a servi.

Had the most delightful sunday lunch at Le Bistrot. The food was delicious and very well presented. The accompanying wine was also very good. The service was proffesional and attentive. This has been one of my food highlights during this holiday to Cagnes sur Mer. This was my second visit here, I cannot recommend it highly enough. I Will definitely eat here again in the future.

Excellent little place if you want to have a French/Mediterranean bistro experience. We had a great night in le Pointu from the top nocht service, to the environment and decor which are amazing. Whether you're eating inside, where the atmosphere and decoration are just fantastic, or outside facing the beautiful Mediterranean sea you'll find what you're looking for.The cuisine, which is delicious has a simple and tasteful twist which makes the experience amazingly enjoyable. The staff from the chef, to the waiters are incredibly nice and making sure that you have a delightful meal.If you're around and looking for a simple yet pleasing dish just pop in and you won't be disappointed.

Very pleasant restaurant which is tucked away off one of the main streets in St Laurent. The menu has only genuinely Niçois dishes made by Sophie and Nicolas, almost everything home cooked. These include pissaladière (onion and anchovy tart), wonderful Merda du Can (literally dog pooh! but I assure you it tastes anything but), great shoulder of lamb (from Ireland), etc. You can wash it down with a selection of local wines. The service is very friendly and Nicolas speaks English. If you like Niçois food, this is well worth a detour. Our visit tonight was one of the nicest dining experiences weâve had recently. Restaurant or home? A tiny, homely husband and wife spot, innocuous on a mundane main road in Cagnes-sur-Mer, â¬69 for an impeccable, home-cooked three-course meal, bookended by a delicious anchovy-based amuse-bouche and a cheeky kumquat-infused rum. The couple who run it are lovely, and we wanted everything on their small menu. Hope to go back.
