Top 10 Lessons & Workshops in Granada, Andalucia

The Alhambra citadel of Granada is one of the most famous buildings in Spain: a Moorish fortress with grand archways and delicate ornamental mosaics. Step backwards in time as you wind through the ascending cobblestone streets of Albayzin. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful views from the Mirador San Nicolas. Granada’s nightlife is vibrant and varied, thanks in part to its student population. Hit the bars of Calle Elvira or, for a quieter outing, the traditional tea rooms of La Calle de Las Teterias.

An impressive setting for a school high up in the Sacramonte area of the city with stunning views of the Alhambra. The staff are very professional and welcoming, teaching is to a high standard. I went for a month to have a go at learning Flamenco guitar, Jorge is probably one of the most patient teachers around! In addition the school arranges very informative walking trips around the city and weekly excursions further away. For the final week of my stay the school was "hit" by the imposition of tough measures to combat Covid 19. Although face-to-face lessons were suspended, the staff went to great lengths to provide online lessons via video link for the remaining students, so our learning was not seriously compromised. Well done Carmen de las Cuevas! I hope the situation improves soon so that you can continue to offer great classes in a relaxed and friendly environment,

My family studied at CastiLa this past summer (my husband, myself and our 3 children). It was the perfect atmosphere to learn, grow and experience the Spanish culture in Granada. It is run by an inviting, knowledgeable and fun staff who will come to feel like family by the end. Besides growing in our knowledge of Spanish - we got to experience fun day trips and excursions when we were not in class. No matter where you are from or what level of Spanish you have - you will find the perfect fit at CastiLa. The only negative is having to say goodbye to the teachers and friends you will meet from around the world!

I have just spent the last three weeks studying at Escuela Montalbán. I was studying with full time students. From the first day I felt so welcome and comfortable. Marísa and María were great teachers - the classes were really good fun and very interesting - they are very dedicated teachers and very caring. I did the cookery classes with Anabel - a truly wonderful hostess - her classes gave a very good insight to true authentic Ándalus cooking. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to returning very soon - for longer!

Jardines De Zoraya

At Jardines de Zoraya you have the opportunity to learn flamenco dance in the introductory class "Discover flamenco" taught by our professional artists. You will learn the basic styles and rhythmic forms of this art declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Come, dance and enjoy!

Reviewed By mptraveller - Arlington Heights, United States

I enjoyed the flamenco so much at Casa del Arte the other night so thought I go see another show before leaving Granada. I chose the dinner/show option at Zoraya. I bought the ticket through a third party and was told to arrive by 6:30. When I got there, they couldn’t seat me until 7:30 because my ticket was for the 8:30 show. Anyway, the 3 course set dinner was very average and although I was in the first row, my table was near a family with a child who was too young to be quiet during the performance. Once the singer started, I knew I was in for some first rate entertainments. What a voice! The male and female dancers did a pleasant dance together. It was not until the solos when I fully appreciated her skills and expressions. Wish there was some brief description to non-Spanish speaking audience about the theme of her dance. None the less, the passion and soulfulness came through loud and clear! Well done! Photo/video were allowed throughout the show.

I am always fascinated by perfume (and the lengths people go to in dexcribing them) and was delighted to find the Patio de los Perfumes in Granada. I took a perfume making session while there and am still delighted with the eperience and with the product I came home with. If you are a bit of a perfume obsessive it is well worth it. Many off-the-shelf perfumes cost a lot more to buy than one you can create here with expert and sympa help. The place itself is also amanzing and well worth a visit.

I had a great time in Granada and in this school. Before I went there I've known Spanish a little but I couldn't speak. The only thing that I could do was introducing myself. But after a perfect education which was above my expectations, I can speak Spanish very well. I can even joke. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. Also the lessons are well structured. Beside this you have to speak Spanish in classes. It helped me to improve my speaking skills. And nowadays, in my country I can't find the quality of the education that I took in Granada. If I had a chance, I would love to attend again. One more reason to choose Granada: You can discover the whole culture of Andalusia. There are a lot of touristic places in Granada and neighboring cities. Also, Granada is the cheapest city that I have ever seen. Free tapas!!!
