Milonga Del Pez Canon

The «Milonga Pez Cañón» is a weekly milonga that occurs every Tuesday. Each edition consists of three activities: tango class, milonga, and live music concert. «Milonga del Pez Cañón» is a milonga organized by the tango group «Cañón» in the cultural place Vuela El Pez. This milonga is characterized by having tango dance classes with a gender perspective, live music presentations with contemporary tangos and a tango dj who selects only recordings of twenty-first century tango groups, playing at the milonga from a Spotify list.

Notorious

For more than two decades, Notorious has became the main jazz spot in Buenos Aires. At 100 meters away from the traditional corner of Callao y Santa Fe, Notorious has the perfect combination of music and gastronomy, gathering at the same place a specialized records store, a bar, a restaurant and the venue with a beautiful garden. The main musicians from many different styles and countries have played there leaving at the air his magic and charm. Recommended by the Downbeat Magazine as one of the best Jazz Clubs in the world, is also perfect for many different situations, like breakfast, lunch, tea or dinner.

Notorious is a Brazilian/world music venue posing as a record store in the heart of Buenos Aires (Santa Fe and Callao). We bought tickets in the afternoon and returned at nine for bossa nova, a re-creation of the album by Vinucius de Moraes, “La Fusa,” originally produced by Victor, the club’s owner. Dinner was satisfying (exceeding the quality you would normally find in US jazz venues). I think we were the only Americans in the place. Our waiters were muy amabile, and the musicians connected with the audience in the intimate space. After the show Victor introduced us to singer Josi Dias. Then we found out about the 12:30 show, a band called Nube 9, founded by eminent Beatles scholar Fernando Blanco and his ace guitarist partner Lucrecia López Sanz. Two and a half hours later we and the Argentine audience were shutting the place down singing “Hey Jude.” Best club experience we have had in the past 20 years.
