Stylish and comfortable

Reviewed By Canadian_Girl613

One of the best looking hostels I have stayed at in Japan, everything was very clean and the female dorm offered great views of Mt Fuji. Beds were comfortable, and staff at check-in were very friendly. Good location not too far from station. We ate at the restaurant one night, food and drink presentation was great, but taste was ok. The food was extremely salty. On checkout (a Tuesday) I was told the hostel was closed for the day and I could not leave my bag or enjoy any of the other hostel's services. This was extremely inconvenient as I then had to go find and pay for somewhere else to leave my bag. Some heads up upon check in would have been nice, as I have never in my years of travel heard of a hostel randomly closing in the middle of the week and offering no services to their guests.

Lovely stay and staff

Reviewed By MattSRob

This is a gorgeous traditional hotel only a few minutes walk away from the Kawaguchiko train station. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, going out of their way to serve you when needed. Your room is very traditional with your bed being a futon. Whilst you can see Fuji from the balcony, you're also a 30 min walk away from some of the best views of Mt Fuji (of which the staff can tell you where to exactly go). You're also able to cook and do laundry here if you're staying as part of a longer trip in Japan and wish to do so. I would happily stay here again.

Tiny room and cold

Reviewed By Greenbirds1

Avoid staying here if you can. Main door is unlocked day and night. Not enough space for two people and we had two small suitcases. We placed them on the floor. The beds are hard, the heating (A/C) does not work very well so most of the time we were freezing and our room (letter O) had a window but it doesn’t look out to anywhere so it feels like a tiny box room. There is really bad condensation in the mornings on the windows. You can hear when someone leaves the house or goes to the toilet, extremely thin walls! I gave it two stars as they include the washing machine, tea & coffee. If you have to stay here, one night would be the most. Oh and don’t check out late! We checked out 10mins later and we were clapped out of the room, Literally! A very rude way of handling with people.

Ideally Located Guesthouse at Kawaguchiko

Reviewed By Dao Kang W

Pros and Cons: + Very close to the bus terminal, easy to get to even if you're dragging your luggages along + Despite the close proximity to bus terminal, rooms are quiet as it is tucked away from the main roads + Clean, comfortable rooms that are decently spacious + Good heating provided + A small positive, you get window view of (slightly obstructed) Mt. Fuji - You have to pay a small premium compared to other guesthouses in the area for all the benefits above.

Great guesthouse for visiting Mt Fuji

Reviewed By askok

Daichi and his wife are great hosts. I enjoyed my stay at their guesthouse very much. Communication was great from the start. Daichi speaks very good English and tells you everything you will need to know about Kawaguchiko and/or Fuji. It is located a little bit away from the station, but it is very quiet in the neighbourhood. There is a 7/11 acrossed the road and a small restaurant around the corner. There are free bicycles to use, so it is very easy to get anywhere else in Town or around the lake (and you should ride to the other side of the lake, it is awesome!). I stayed in the dorm and it was very very comfortable! The bed and covers made it difficult to get up in the morning. There is a kitchen where you can get tea/coffee and prepare your own breakfast. There is 1 bathroom. No big deal, but be prepared you might have a wait a bit to take a shower. All in all, a great stay when visiting Mt. Fuji area!

Budget stay in a great location

This property clean, comfortable and the staff is very friendly. It's a small property and on a quiet side street, but also only a 5 minute walk from the main station so it's great for getting around. We very much recommend it. We were skeptical about the futon beds at first, but we found them to be very comfortable.

E-Joy Hostel

We are located in Lake Kawaguchiko(located right at the base of Mount Fuji). The most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes with train and direct bus connections to Tokyo.

Perfect location to enjoy Mt. Fuji in a very relaxed atmosphere!

Reviewed By CeJayL

Most of the tourists stay on the other side of the lake where it is the station and the town, therefore, that side is very crowded. To stay at E-Joy was the best decision ever! They will pick you up at the station, so you don’t have to worry to find the place or spend in a taxi, that’s super convenient! The area of the hotel is where you can get the best views of the Fuji! There you can find small shops, restaurants, and supermarkets, so you’ll have everything you need but in a very quiet atmosphere, between the lake and the forest, ideal for relaxing and unwinding from Japan big cities. They provide free bicycles, so you can get around very easily. We loved to bike by the lake with the forest fresh air! The hotel is super warm and cozy, we could spend an entire afternoon just reading in the common area, which is very bright and homey and have lovely views to the forest. You have free coffee and tea all day, as well as access to the kitchen, fridge, stove, and microwave, so it’s very easy to make your own food if you wish. Breakfast was delicious, and we highly recommend that you have dinner at their restaurant. It’s the most convenient option after a day exploring and their food is just superb!! The staff is also the best, super warm and helpful. They received us with a very warm welcome and they were very helpful showing us around, giving us tips to explore, providing maps, and so on. They speak very good English! Do not hesitate to stay here if you’re looking for feeling at home and having the best views of Mt. Fuji a few minutes from your doorstep!
