It’s located on the 6th floor of Hotel Urban Port. We ate here as it was very close to our hotel. The food was impressive. Very beautifully presented, and the view from the dining room would be amazing in good weather! Even with the snow-rain mix of the day, it was still nice to watch the waves break on Mermaid Beach. The breakfast is very salty though, and has a number of Japan-specific foods. While I love these personally, I’m not sure everyone likes Natto and pickled mushrooms. It’s worth a try if you want a traditional (and extensive) Japanese style breakfast. Gluten free may be available if you reserve enough in advance, but I’m not sure.

This was an interesting place to have lunch. I think I loved the architecture more than I loved the food, but that alone makes a stop here so worth it. However, the food was good, very fresh. My group had a tempura set. Everything was beautifully presented. There’s a small gift shop downstairs and a courtyard garden. Private rooms for lunch or dinner are available with reservations. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and aesthetic for a good meal, I recommend. It’s located in a more historic part of town, so even just walking the neighborhood was nice. It’s also not far from Mermaid Beach. However, if you can’t read Japanese, you may have some difficulties. They staff are very kind, but I’m not sure what their level of spoken English is.

ここは顧客ＣＳと店内の造作なんかが優れていたので〇４に。一人でも入り易い店構えで、店内もそこそこの奥行(幅)があるカウンター席が途中で大きくカーブしており、かなりの人数が座れる、一人で入っても座り易い。座敷もあることはあるが、私の様に一人旅の者にとっては例えご案内頂いても恐縮する、と云うか、身の置き所に苦労する。獲れたての新鮮な魚介と地産の野菜を配した海の幸定食は昼食としては値が張るが(と、云っても３０００円程度だが、京都市内より遥かに安い)量的にも、質的にも、盛付的(視覚)にもなかなか良かった。土産として買った鯖寿司、流石は京都から続く鯖街道の終着点小浜、家で食べても本場の味そのものでした。

道路を挟んで海に面しています。小上がりに案内されましたが、海を臨むことができ、開放的です。海鮮丼を注文しました。小鉢とみそ汁付きで１２００円です。まぐろ・イカ・カンパチ・いくら・ぼたんえびなど豪華に盛られています。ウズラ卵とわさびを醤油にといて上からかけて食べるそうです。たまごのとろみがマッチしてとても美味しくいただきました。

The food and atmosphere were lovely. The wood decor really aids the the Japanese feeling of the restaurant. It’s a comfortable blend between modern and traditional.The staff were incredibly welcoming. The sushi master and his assistant brought the fish to us themselves and were very kind. The food was very fresh and sourced locally. Even the plating garnish was from their own garden!

ここのお寿司はすごくおいしかったです！地元の人（親戚）も、ここが一番とおっしゃってました。並を頼みましたが、十分価値ありの地の物満載でした。今度はぜひ上を頼んでみたいです。I'm writing this review in English, because I want to introduce Obama City (happened to be the same as the former president of USA even in their spelling!) to foreign tourists more, where became my another hometown after marriage. Obama has very precious temples accommodating fine buddha images. When we see them at temples in Kyoto, they are all hidden and cannot be observed in the details, but here in Obama, you can see them closer. The face look very different from your view points. Also you can occupy all the precious moment by yourselves! Only very few tourists even in the busy season. That's something I love about Obama City.Anyways, the restaurant is located in the residential area, a bit fart from the central city area. They have set menus of Nigiri (regular sushi that you imagine) according to different grades of the fish. We ordered 'average' for 12 pieces for 2000 yen. The fish is very fresh, and everything comes directly from the Japan sea, sitting next to the restaurant. The sushi may not look too fancy in presentation wise, compared to ones in Tokyo, say, but they are all very tasty and local! They also have 'supreme' for 12 pieces for 3000 yen, and it seems better, of course. I would recommend you to order this 'supreme' if you really want to try good one. You can also ask for 'chef's recommendation' from 5 pieces. (The price varies) They also have a la carte, but all written in Japanese unfortunately.However, I strongly recommend this sushi restaurant. I'm a sushi lover, and this restaurant is one of the best that I've had ever!

若狭フィッシャーマンズ・ワーフ内で、おススメはテイクアウト寿司コーナーの「とれとれ寿司」。地魚を使ったお寿司や刺身、若狭名産の焼き鯖寿司等がお手ごろ価格で販売されています。その場で食べられるようにテーブルと椅子も用意されていて、お味噌汁がサービスでいただけます。（1人1杯まで）焼きサバ寿司を頂きました。脂が乗っていてとっても美味しかったです。大葉と生姜がピリッとアクセントになってます。

福井県小浜市で有名なかつ丼”こだま食堂”さんにきました。土曜日の14時過ぎにきたので狙いの「わらじかつ丼＆二色丼」は売り切れていました⤵迷った末にタルタルかつ丼を注文！並（かつ2枚）とセットメニューの冷たい蕎麦を注文しました。 カツはわらじカツよりは小さいですが十分な大きさのカツでわらじかカツのような薄さで、箸で切れるくらいの柔らかさです。タルタルの相性もよかったです。 セットの冷たいそばは腰もありなかなかいける味でした！
