Blu Bar Ristorantino was a wonderful surprise for us! Our family stopped in on a whim while driving - it was late in the afternoon just before closing and we were welcomed in with open arms and big smiles. We then proceeded to have one of the best meals during our five week trip across Northern Italy. If you're in the area and haven't been to Blu Bar, seek it out! This place was wonderful. The dishes are big and plentyful. We had the best pizza in all Tuscany, and the best veal tagliata. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have parking. I strongly recommend this restaurant.Grazie per l'ottima recensione da parte di tutto lo staff dell'Osteria Candolesi!!!

The reason for the many positive reviews are probably more a craving for a change of Italian fare of great pastas and wines that this region has to ofger rather than for the quality of this joint. Don't get me wrong, the beer is good (although nothing to compare with the top micro breweries) and desserts are not bad neither, but it goes downwards from that point. perhaps we should have sticked to safer options, but the stinco(pork shank) as well as chicken were very average. The service was also not great with waitresses forgetting a lot of things including drinks and cutlery. next time, I would stick to a few beers and perhaps some snacks, but definately no meals for me.

Visited here twice over a week holiday in Poppi. The food is absolutely to die for. I had the tortelli de patate and the Mercurio pizza, and both were easily the best pizza and pasta dishes I had encountered in Italy. Food is ridiculously cheap also considering the fantastic quality of the food. One of the main reasons for returning other than the meals was the beautiful views surrounding the restaurant looking all over Poppi. Only reason I am not giving five stars is because the food did not come out at the same time so some people had finished eating when others food just arrived, and side dishes came out after our mains. Otherwise, a great experience. Would 100% return.

I booked this restaurant from the trip advisor reviews for my dads 70th birthday celebrations. The restaurant is a hidden gem. The food and service was amazing. Lots of new experiences for us all.It was a lovely evening out which I would recommend people to visit.

Ristorante Mater can offer a unique experience to the most demanding gourmets. Their philosophy of drawing on Tuscan roots while enriching them with a surprisingly modern twist results in an real feast! I strongly recommend the degustation menu with wine tasting. We spent about 12 days on vacation in Italy and we visited plenty of restaurants throughout the country. "La Buca" was definately the best of all !! The dishes of the traditional Tuscan cusine were so original and tasty as well as the local wine. The service was really good, the atmosphere very relaxing and the prices were very good for the quality offered. We fully recommend this location to everybody viting Tuscan!!! We will come back for sure some time!!

Pleasant food, yet not outstanding and friendly service.But the dinner took very long, probably owing to an overwhelmed kitchen crew (although the restaurant wasnât full).A good option, but there are better places in the vicinityDear Pierre,thanks for taking the time in writing this review, although we preferred the same time will dedicate to read a good book.I would rather have that in writing this review had written in detail when it was, how many you were and what you ate. From what you wrote I can not figure out when and how we were wrong.Our cuisine is all expressed and then happen to wait, especially when the restaurant is full or when customer orders are difficult to manage.What I can hardly believe is that the service was not great nor friendly.
