A month ago, we tried the Brooklyn pizza and fell in love with the Pizza. We thought we would try again. Ordered same pizza again and were highly disappointed. The pie was greasy with no taste as the last time. What happened ? Suggestion to take out or eat the pizza somewhere else as there is nothing special eating at this place.

This is an instant hit in my book. Excellent gelateria, very fresh, fantastic creamy frozen stuff with good flavor balance, many varieties - both classic and unique.. There are several ice cream shops and gelaterias with well-deserved reputations in the area. -- and the lines to prove it. On a hot summer night, this place is quaint. Free tastes to sample the flavors before you choose. I will be back and back and back.

Trattorria Procaccini

Reviewed By tutorboy

This was a surprisingly disappointing experience. The restaurant that was here previously, North End Bistro, was very good, so I was surprised by such poor service at Trattorria Procaccini. I was truly hoping to enjoy the ambience, the food, and the service. We were a party of 5 with a 6pm reservation last Saturday. Upon arrival, the restaurant was not full, and so we were seated quickly, and shortly afterwards gave our order. Then, we sat, and waited and waited and waited. During that time, our waiter brought us some bread, but forget to provide all of us with silver wear. We had to ask for it. It was not until 7pm that he brought one of our dinners, but not the other 4. 15 minutes later, the rest of the dinners arrived. It was now 7:15pm. By this time, the dinner that had been brought out earlier was more than 1/2 eaten, so this person had to wait for the rest of us to eat....very tacky. The waiter had stopped by once to tell us the food was coming, but that he didn't know why it was taking so long. There were no apologies, no explanations, no anything. As we sat waiting for our meals, we also noticed that people who came to the restaurant after us were being served before us. There is no excuse for the manager or waiter to keep us in the dark as to why our meals were so slow in coming out. Had it not been for the fact that we were enjoying conversing with our dinner-mates, I would have asked to speak to the Manager. If nothing else, we should have been given an explanation, and if they were on the ball, given some concession for the poor service they provided. The food was adequate, but nothing that I would write home about, not worth the 75 minute wait for sure. Poor service is inexcusable in Princeton. There are many other establishments that provide better service. Perhaps this was an exception, but it left a bad impression with us.

I've passed Lucy's many times in the last 20 years. It was very crowded at lunch time with only 8 seats for in dining.Ordered the risotto fungi. I've had it worldwide. Bland. Suggest skipping. Sampled the champagne pate. Excellent brought some home. Lots of fresh pasta options prepared ready to eat and to purchase for at home cooking.

Wish they had wines by the glass...their salads are wonderful and we shared the rigatoni (which was amazing) and then ordered the chocolate lava cake with homemade vanilla gelato - so so good!!

Some business visitors from Maryland had gone to Nomad for lunch on a previous trip a few months prior, and when they came again, they emphatically requested going to Nomad again for lunch. That's a pretty good recommendation. As for myself, the margherita pizza was excellent, especially the crust. And the boxed pieces I took home were still tasty two and three days later.

Conte's Pizza

Reviewed By MontrealMan49

As a native of Princeton, NJ who dined at Conte’s recently with my family I am always amazed at how such an oddly located pizza joint that hasn’t changed its decor for decades can attract so many ( it usually requires a long wait..) The answer is simple: very good pizza. Conte’s, a Princeton institution for decades, is located in a residential neighbourhood in Princeton a few blocks from Route 206, but not that easy to find. After an afternoon of Christmas shopping on a Sunday, I drove to Conte’s with my wife and two college-aged kids for an early dinner at 5:50pm on a Sunday, hoping to avoid a wait. Amazingly Conte’s was already packed and the line got bigger — we waited 25 minutes for a table. When we left around 7:30pm there were about 20 people in line, likely facing a 45-minute wait for a table.Conte’s is like a factory that cranks off pizzas and pours beer to its devoted patrons willing to endure a long wait for pizza, or pasta, and beer. While the staff is pleasant, it’s clear they are eager to turn tables to move diners in and out to optimize profits. It occurs to me that the old tables and uncomfortable chairs ( circa 1970 ) are not conducive to a lengthy stay.. they don’t want you to linger but free up your table for the next guests. Conte’s serves very good pizza and they offer a decent mix of menu items plus a nice assortment of beer on tap or bottled. Don’t go for the ambiance nor a fancy meal, but if you are looking for a unique pizza joint and you can tolerate a long wait to be seated, give it a try!

METRO NORTH RESTAURANT PRINCETON378 ALEXANDER ROAD PRINCETON NJJUST A TAD OUTSIDE OF "IN-TOWN” PRINCETONBack for yet-another round at Metro North Restaurant just a tad outside of “In-Town” Princeton. Still not a bad choice if you want to avoid the ‘in-town’ congestion and relax in an informal, comfortable, atmosphere; … and, you wish to just, simply, enjoy a place filled with a cheerful, jubilant, crowd, out to enjoy a lively evening. Bring your revel-attitude and join the lively jovial, merry, jolly, environment that is far from subdued. For the price, you do get a reasonably decent portion of whichever choice you pick from a relatively wide tasty menu selection, along with a quite-honorable list of nice, different beers to choose from in many different taste categories. Fun, merriment, lively, decent meal from a decent menu selection; decent-tasting food in a proportionate price range …. Cannot go wrong if you are in that area and, again, choose to bypass the ‘in-town’ hassle. Those are some of the reasons why we choose to return to Metro North on Alexander Road whenever we find ourselves in this area.
