It always seems odd to me that Calabrian restaurants and other businesses stress that they are âtipicoâ. Not everyone wants the same every time. This place, increasingly like others in Badolato, is developing to be âdifferenteâ, in a positive way. With carefully chosen wines and beers matched to a small but high standard of tasting plates, this is worth seeking out. We had a cold cuts selection including, somewhat in a bit of contradiction, hot melted nduja, with good meats and cheeses plus accompaniments. A good beer and an excellent Calabrian white - organic Pircoca, from Masseria Falvo 1727 in the Cosenzo area. A really good addition to the increasingly foodie destination village.

Amazing dinner! Fish appetizer of octopus and calamari, mussels and shrimp ceviche was beyond delicious. Charcuterie and cheese appetizer was super. Sword fish and large langostino prawns was excellent , cooked to perfection. The skirt steak delicious. Service was impeccable by their energetic and knowledgeable staff. Wine that accompanied our meal was out of this world.A memorable experience!

This is an amazing little hotel. Not that old with air con in all the room and very nicely decoradted. It is a working farm of sorts and there are animals (pigs and chickens) that you can go and see. The hotel owners are just fantastic very friendly and will help with anything you need. This is a proper Italian family so the english is not so great but you can get by with google translate. There is WiFi there that is really quite fast and the grownds are beautiful. If you want proper Italian food, that is all this family serve. When you eat in the resturant there is no menu to speak of, but whatever the chef has descided to cook that's what you have. All the food is grown on the grounds and it's just out of this world. I was here for 4 nights and I really wished I could of stayed longer. Sadly it was a works trip so had to come home. The local town is nice with other resturants if you would like. The hotel is also a 5 min drive to the beach. The whole coast in the area is just stunning with views you normally only see in holiday brochures. This trully is a gem of a hotel in a nice quiet area but close to the main town and main road. If you are looking for an authentic Italian place to stay then this hotel is the one to go for. They also make lots of their own wines, jams, meats and liqueurs that you can try and buy. I can't say enough about this little gem...If you get the chance you must stay here. It's like the Italian family you never had.

You should not miss this bar if you're in the area - the owner's father first invented bergamot ice cream decades ago, and still today theirs is the best. Here you can also try bergamot granita, bergamot cookies, bergamot liqueur and an array of products made with the local plant. A plant so local that you'll not find it anywhere else but Calabria.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful evening at this quaint and charming restaurant in Badolato. We had a gourmet 5 course dinner, perched on the side of a mountain overlooking the beautiful nearby scenery. The food and service were excellent and we could not believe how AMAZING the house red wine was. Strong recommendation to go here if you are in the neighbourhood or nearby! We drove 40 minutes from Soverato to visit this restaurant and it was definitely worth it. One of the highlights of our Calabria trip.

I was here with my family and it was a great experience! All the dishes and the wine were delicious and the service was impeccable. The restaurant is located in a nice and comfortable place were you can enjoy a beautiful view of the landscape while tasting flavourful dishes. Recommended.

Badolato is a small town, not far from the sea, in Calabria, Italy. The food in this restaurant was very good, and the owner was very friendly. This is a restaurant where you will find real Calabrian food at reasonable prices, a few steps from the central piazza of the town. Both the antipasto and the home-made pasta were excellent, as was the eggplant parmigiana. If you visit Badolato, this is a great place to eat!

A welcome addition to Badolato is this bar / cafe on the main street of the old village. Fresh made (really fresh) snacks and smoothies. Wine and beer in a more artisanal style. Great for breakfast and late night relaxation.
