We visited as group so all starters and mains were pre-ordered. Drinks arrived promptly but then we seemed to be forgotten about. After prompting the mixed platters of starters arrived; about the only Italian thing on the board was mozzarella (I don’t consider rolled-up plastic ham to be Italian??). Mains again took nearly an hour to arrive - my carbonara has to be cut into chunks with a knife and fork as it was so chunky. Everything just seemed overcooked and stodgy. We ordered desserts : an hour and five minutes before the last one arrived! We had to keep asking for refills of water and more drinks - these were never offered. But over four hours for 3 courses???They seemed to be very short-staffed but since the restaurant knew there was a big party in, why not bring in extra staff? Or else refuse the booking if they couldn’t cope with the numbers? Would I go back? Never. Would I recommend? No.

We received a warm and friendly welcome for our charity celebration dinner. It was difficult to choose what to eat as the menu was varied and it was nice to see what others had chosen. Food was nicely presented, delicious and everyone was delighted with their choice. The food was hot and service was great. How do they cater for so many meals not pre-ordered and give a good service. Nothing was too much trouble. The evening was wonderful and we will be returning both individually and as a party.

Saturday 4th August before the cinema we decided to eat out and instead of dining at our usual favourite ASK Italian we tried IL Grande in the Ebbisham Centre as it looked attractive with a front patio area. What a mistake. Firstly the service was grumpy, abrupt and unpleasant. Honestly the man couldn't even smile! The food was as bad. The bruscgetta to be fair was lovely, the Burrata was hard with a dollop of double cream on top lying on 2 greasy pieces of aubergine. Really poor for the money. We ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage as a main. I love my pasta and I love it al dente but this was so hard, in a greasy cream sauce with inedible and tasteless sausage ( if that's what it was). We also ordered a salmon pizza with extra prawns. I am at this point speechless. A pizza base with no tomato base, instead funny double cream topped with huge amounts of cheese so the base was undercooked was served. The salmon was lovely, the 2 ( broken in half) king prawns were not!! simply awful. £50 spent and I just wanted to go. As we paid the grumpy waiter asked me if everything was ok. When I said it was just ok he grunted and walked off and stared at us as we left. What a mistake. I won't be going back that a for sure.

Restaurant:Attractively decorated. Ample comfortable seating (divided into two sections). Conducive to dinner conversation. Clean and bathroom well designed. Wheel chair friendly. Ample parking (especially in the evenings).Service:We were warmly greeted by the manager and given a choice of tables. Alessio who looked after us provided sterling service -helpful, paced service and willing to tolerate our attempts at speaking in Italian! Our thanks.Dining Experience:Non vegetarians have a wide choice but vegetarians and vegans are equally catered for.The complimentary olives were pitted, well-seasoned and appetising. On this occasion we opted for Bruschetta and Taleggio fritto (served with a divine fig sauce) for starters and we were not disappointed. For the main course we chose Risotto Marinara (creamy, but too many clams and squids, two prawns and lacking a tad in flavouring) and Panzerotti funghi (absolutely delicious!!!!). I asked for garlic bread with mozzarella and was shocked to see its size - like a medium-sized pizza. The mixed salad was made with fresh ingredients but a little short on the dressing. We enjoyed our meal with the house wine, a Sicillian dry red. An Amaretto tiramisu rounded off the meal with pleasure. The portions are generous and presentation of the dishes is good. Service is included in the bill.On the whole we had a very pleasant dining experience and we shall be returning to sample other dishes on the menu Thumbs up!

The food here, quite frankly, was a delight. We arrived on a quiet Sunday evening and were quickly seated in a corner. Service was quick, pleasant and polite. We ate mostly Italian dishes, although the menu included other cuisines. My word, the food was delicious! The portion sizes were just right. Between the four of us we ordered just two desserts; the apple pie and chocolate fudge cake, both excellent. The prices were good too: for four of us eating a main course each with two desserts and a bottle of Cab sav, the total, including service, came to a smidgen over £80.So a rare 5 star rating from me.Tip: the service charge was included in the bill.

Hadn’t visited here for around 15 years. Kept saying we must and finally got around to it. The Sunday menu was £15.50 for three courses. Each course we chose was very delicious. We were very impressed. The atmosphere was lovely and staff very friendly, a family run restaurant with a lovely feel to it. Will definitely not wait another 15 years before we visit again.
