Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in Bristol, Pennsylvania, United States. Bristol is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 23 miles (37 km) northeast of Center City Philadelphia, opposite Burlington, New Jersey on the Delaware River. Bristol was first incorporated in 1720. After 1834, the town became very important to the development of the American Industrial Revolution as the terminus city of the Delaware Canal providing greater Philadelphia with the days High Tech Anthracite fuels from the Lehigh Canal via Easton. The canal and a short trip on the Delaware also gave the town access to the mineral resources available in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York via each of the Morris Canal, the Delaware and Hudson Canal, and the Delaware and Raritan Canal, and connected the community to those markets and trade from New York City. These were among the factors spurring development of Bristol and nearby towns, explaining in part the industries which developed in the region.

After hearing less than positive reviews from other eateries in Bristol, I asked for suggestions from fellow employees about ordering corporate lunches. Many of them suggested Porfirio's for take out. So far, I agree. Their hoagies are generous, the pizza is tasty, and their white pie is superior. I have used them for many corporate lunches. They deliver on time. I never hear any complaints about the food.Just this week I ordered a pizza from Porfirio's to take home because I knew I would not want to go out in the predicted snow. The pizza tasted great reheated. Well-seasoned, with a thin crust and generous portions of cheese and sauce.I have picked up orders at Porfirio's. There is a separate eat-in, shared with a Chinese restaurant, which looks clean. My food review is judged on take-out orders, which I find to be superior.Bristol PA is hardly a food mecca. I can recommend Porfirio's as a great take-out pizza, cheese steak, and hoagie place.

Gerome's has a great variety of sausage, as well other Italian things like pasta. We had a "tasting" party where we tried different kinds of sausage - liked them all, but always come back to the traditional Italian style - great grilled for sandwiches! Last time I visited, there was a customer shopping before she headed back to Maryland because she couldn't find anything that good where she lived.

Cesare's Pizzerias

I really love dining in authentic Italian restaurants, & while a portion of our most recent meal was successful, most dishes fell short of expectations. We started with a shared plate of Bruschetta - tasty, but difficult to eat w/ the bread sliced very thin & toasted to melba toast crunch quality. Each bite resulted in wet tomato pieces cascading everywhere but the mouth. The salad was OK - but slightly over-dressed. My husband's Veal Saltimbocca was satisfactory, but he's had far better elsewhere. The penne pasta was very enjoyable - coated nicely in tasty red gravy. I ordered probably one of the single most requested dishes - Veal Parm - &, while the penne was nicely dressed in sauce, the meat portion of the meal came out looking anemic with industrial sliced mozzarella cheese topping the meat - & no colorful sauce to add flavor. I've never seen the dish offered that way before...perhaps someone in the kitchen forgot to give the dish a spoonful of red gravy. While the flavor was OK, the dish was dry. Cesare's would be so convenient for us - just wish it was better.

Stopped for lunch for some wood fired pizza. Staff was friendly and efficient. The decor has warm wood and brick,a kind of hip industrial vibe. We had the white mushroom pizza and it was delicious, so good on a cold January afternoon! Something about wood fired pizza, is extra special.

I can’t recommend enough. Annabella’s is a family favorite for special occasions. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the owner always come to our table to make sure we are satisfied and happy with our meals. The food is always amazing. Authentic Italian, excellent pasta, portions are large, the seafood is fresh (order the mussels red...you won’t regret it!). My husband raves about the osso buco. Wonderful restaurant where you are treated like family.

It is HOT inside. Not quite as hot as it was outside today, Father's Day, 2018. We asked them to turn up the air conditioning, they did a little, but, I was sweating as I ate. I had Shrimp Scampi which was absolutely delicious. Had eaten there before and it was hot inside then. Don't expect anything fancy, ceiling tiles are warped and askew, there's an air duct hose just hanging there, it's an old building that could use some rehab inside. The wait staff was very good and friendly. No complaints other than the temperature. My dad enjoyed his meal, that's what's really important.
