The special âWine Aroundâ evening event at the Sugar and Spice restaurant featured the award winning Trapiche which is Argentinaâs largest wine producer. This was reason enough to acquaint myself with the new InterContinental hotel in Pondok Indah.The four wines featured were perfectly paired with exquisitely presented dishes. Two food items were especially prepared for me as I didnât want to eat the meat items offered. This was highly appreciated. The first course was introduced as âBoston lobster âBelle Vueâ with mango-sago salsa, and basil espumaâ. It was a work of art. The second offering was âLine-caught 'Catch of the day' with curried cauliflower mousseline, green asparagus and carrot butter. Can perfection be surpassed? And we had two more wonderful dishes to go.I can not recommend this restaurant more highly. The ambiance was elegant and the selection of international food on offer was enticingly displayed.The waiters without fault were attentive, helpful and polite. Mr. Oki Sudrajat was particularly informative and made us feel relaxed and at home.Thank you for that. Excellent business dinner at Arts café. with a real sommelier proposing wine pairing. the buffet display has been enlarged, but at the same time a pass around of a la minute prepared dishes are giving the excitement and surprise effect. I've had more than five meals at Sana Sini over the four days I stayed at Pullman Thamrin (the hotel service doesn't rate as well). The buffet spread is excellent, ranging from fresh seafood and sashimi to their renowned selection of sambals and Indonesian cuisine. I was most impressed with Chef Wulan, who whipped up her version of gado gado (pictured) that had a sauce that was lighter and much more palatable than the heavy peanut sauce of the traditional dish. The flavours were punchier and a lot less "jelak". I'm not a big fan of gado gado, but her recipe (which was bespoke for me) is one I'd return to. My buffet dinner ended with a plate of fresh fruit assembled by Chef Wulan, cleansing my palate and leaving me completely satisfied. Truly outstanding! Beautiful Signatures Restaurant is currently receiving a facelift, so the breakfast buffet has been temporarily relocated to the nearby Nirwana Lounge through December. Admittedly, the location was a disappointment to we who are accustomed to the open, beautiful, friendly ambience of the true restaurant. The food is still fine, and the service remains good and friendly, although it's obvious even the staff is not thrilled to navigate the somewhat challenging geography of their temporary home. However, we still enjoyed the fine breakfast which is worth the cost of about $20 US Dollars, so it's very recommended even right now in the Nirwana Lounge. Accessible location but somehow managing to be removed from the noise of the big city. Very welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. Pleasant and comfortable interior. Wide choice of dishes which are prepared with passion and largesse. You can choose between Western, original thus refreshingly tasty Indian, Korean and Japanese cuisines. I will fail to recommend individual dishes as the Lady of the House definitely knows much better. So it will be best you follow her suggestions - but do try all of their desserts!The bill came back surprisingly light. Went there today for a birthday dinner with my wife.Great service with a lot of thoughtful arrangements from the crew and captain (thanks to Debrian and Dani). Both my wife and I agreed that the food served was fantastic (you must try the oxtail soup! and the creme brulee... maybe one of the best we've tried in Jakarta).This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem. The selection itself is rather small, but it is compensated with the sophisticated service and food quality.
