Came down to watch the cruise ships leaving Kotor on a balmy evening and wanted a light bite - the fresh fruit salad with ice cream hit the spot, as did the Irish coffee. The fruit salad comprised only fresh fruit and was delicious, and it was a lovely peaceful spot off season. Their menu looked good but we didn't have room.

Dropped in for a late lunch and tried the âblackâ beer, which was different. A slant on old English mild. We were advised to try the fish pate, which was really nice, with lightly toasted freshly made bread. Followed by octopus salad, a vinegary mix with potato and red onion, and tomato gnocchi which was really tasty.We will return for a local fish meal, which is their specialty.

A beautifully restored old mill which now provides excellent simple local food, all accompanied with wine. The evening started off with a short explanation and tour of the historic building and then we were served bread and donuts produced on site, with cold meats and cheese. This was followed by slow cooked lamb with potatoes. We were not rushed and were blown away by the hospitality of the hosts. Definitely a must try experience!Dear Jo R. Situated at the crossroad between the two border crossing points between Montenegro and Croatia this Ethno restaurant provides fresh fish and sea food. The service is very fast and the variety of the dishes as well - first time I could order grilled squid on the dalmatian coast within a week! I need also to mention the price that is very affordable! Do mot skip this place if you are going from Kotor to Dubrovnik!

Our first stop and first meal in Montenegro and came here because the restaurant was recommended by Lonely Planet. The food is not bad. The shrimp I ordered was fresh and the other dishes we ordered were ok. We were starving and were met with SUPER slow service. It must have taken 30 minutes and 5 requests to just get the menu, never mind the food. Still gave them 4 stars because of the fabulous view.Yes, as the last reviewer said, they don't speak English, but please remember you are not in an English speaking country. You wouldn't expect the servers in your country to speak Montenegrin.

Pergola has very welcoming, nice and friendly staff. It has beautiful view of the sea and charming, lovely ambiance. Menu is very nice and varied, everyone can find something, and always full plated.We had spaghetti bolognaisse which was absolutely delicious. Mousles are also fabulous.Staff in Pergola is very attentive and they are always wanting to make sure we were happy with our meal. We returned to Pergola almost everyday and never has single dissapointment. Last but not least - it is very perfectly clean. All recommendations. We will be back to Pergola if we decide to go to Herceg Novi in coming years.
