We always like to lunch at Bogmalo beach right after our plane lands in Goa. Our usual place being closed during the rainy season, we chose Dom's after reading TA reviews. It's a real find. My test of Goan food is the prawn curry and rice. Dom's passed with flying colours! Large, juicy prawns in a fabulous curry. You can taste the fresh coconut and the kokum kick is terrific! My husband loved his squid butter garlic with Pao. With a fresh crunchy salad and a bottle of mineral water, only Rs 720! You can't beat this place for view, taste, service and price. It's definitely our new go-to place for lunch on landing!

Full Moon Restaurant & Bar

The food at Full Moon restaurant was rather inclined toward the tourist taste, which is a great shame. However, it was tasty and the big compensation was the price. Three people ate for £18.00 including rice, Indian breads and two large alcoholic drinks each. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a pleasant dinner right on the beach front overlooking the Indian Ocean.

We were a little disappointed by our stay at Swing by the bay. It all started out well, small guesthouse situated one street back from the beach, an easy walk. Nice outdoor restaurant facing the street. A very efficient fellow on the reception desk organised us, hurried up the cleaning and we were in a bit earlier than expected about 1pm. The room itself was quite large, tiled floors and the usual smallish bathroom, water only tepid. The two single beds pushed together, was just OK. Pillows very worn (hardly much pillow left). We had to ask for some top sheets only provided with a bottom sheet and a furry blanket. The sheets were lovely and freshly ironed when we finally got them. However the bathroom towels were quite old and grey looking. The air con worked ok after we made a few queries. The standard was what you would generally expect from a 2 star hotel, but given the price we paid we had been expecting a little bit more. Short distance to airport which is why we stayed here, about 15 mins 500rps. Beach is OK for a short stay. Joets on the beach a good place for some food and drink. Bogmalo Beach resort had a wedding on being Saturday night which made it a bit noisy to sleep. There was a small balcony with 3 chairs. You can see a view of the beach but there is a lot of things in the way. It is advertised as being next to Bagmallo Beach resort so we expected it to be directly on the beach, but it is actually one street back.

John Seagull

John Seagull has been one of the finest places which I have visited at Bogmalo beach. Some of the highlights of the place are that, it is reasonably priced, varied range of food specially veg because I am pure vegetarian, has a fine pool table to sip a few glasses of beer while enjoying a game of pool with buddies, also offers a lot of desi Indian bites (aka Chakna) which is really important for people like me. All in all, had a wonderful experience at this place and I would strongly recommend everyone to be here if you happen to come to Bogmalo beach.

The Deluxe Fish Thali here is fit for a King. It is a struggle to finish but the superb taste of each item on the plate prevents you from giving up. While the fish fry and fish curry are the highlights, the dried shrimp thoran and clam (simpla) side dishes deserves equal applause. It’s good to see this restaurant maintains its quality and excellent standard over the years. Unlike the beach shacks which now have more tandoori dishes on their menu than local delicacies. It worth finding out this restaurant in the bylines of Vasco market for its superb seafood and thali.

We had the last dinner of our trip here, and took few starters and few main courses. The starters were garlic prawns (awful) and veg Manchurian (ok). Both dishes we have eaten plenty of times during our trip and always been much better than this. Main courses were red snapper (ok, but really bland), chicken tikka masala (subpar) and half tandoori chicken (okish). Guess you can eat here, but don't expect to enjoy as much as every other review seems to make you think. All in all, one of the worst places on our trip.

Absolutely recommend this beautiful bar and restaurant right on the beach. The food served was delicious with the drinks , good music and clean washrooms compared to other beach shacks/bars in Goa.The service is quite impressive provided the fact that we were only Indians among the crowd but still we were attended all the time :)Highly recommend for parties which won’t burn your pockets for sure and 100% much better place when compared to touristic and over priced Curlie’s Anjuna.Happy TravellingGood afternoon from Joets,Thank you for giving us an excellent review on TripAdvisor. it is always nice to ready good reviews and we are thankful that you enjoyed our food and drink as well as cleanliness and serviceNo matter what your nationality, colour or creed, we greet all of our guests with the same professionalism and courtesy.we would be delighted to welcome you back whenever you are next in the area.Warm Regards
