The room had a broken balcony door and a running toilet. The management didn’t care nor did they do anything when we requested another room. In fact Management knew we would be arriving late and we would have no option other than to suck it up. That’s pretty poor conduct. The service from reception when trying to organise an airport transfer was rude and obstructive.

Trinity Beach House

$1200 could have been $2400 - poor WHS

Reviewed By AllPlanet

I hosted relatives visiting from Sydney over seven days and spent $1200.00 at The Beach House. One night we turned up without a reservation and the waitress arranged the chairs, when I sat on mine I fell into the garden bed and grabbed onto the table causing two glasses to smash. The night manager ran over and accused me of moving the tables and wouldn’t listen to my explanation about how the waitress trying to be helpful moved the table and chairs too close to the garden bed and didn’t seem to care that I almost got injured. I felt embarrassed and belittled and left the premises, taking my family and friends to a nearby Tavern where we dined consistently over the remainder of their holidays, better service and food at half the price. I never went back the Beach House Cafe as feel that although the manager was busy he neglected his duty of care for his customers, caused embarrassment for his patrons and let down his employers as I took my business elsewhere and found good service, location, food, ambience all at half the price only a few doors up.

The rooms are a wierd layout. The 2 singles on ground floor isn't really a room and right at front door so not private. The main bedroom is a mezzanine so again not private. All a bit dated but functional. WiFi pretty much non existent. Rooms are clean, good aircon, washing machine and dryer. Only very basic utensils, pans etc. Pool and BBQ area lovely and some utensils, plastic plates etc and full stove.

Blue Lagoon Resort

Nightmare manager and stay- do NOT stay here!!!

Reviewed By Laura4373

My partner and I checked in for 3 nights in June 2022- what a huge mistake! We unfortunately arrived late at Blue Lagoon Resort. I say unfortunate because we had no other option other than to stay 1 out of the 3 nights we were booked in for. The shower did not work (see video), the room was FILTHY (especially the bed with it’s disgusting stains, we were unsure that the sheets were even changed between guests), amenities were faulty and dated but worst of all was the manager. After staying for one night we couldn’t have been out of there quick enough. After raising our concerns with the manager (who picked up 2 calls during our conversation- such poor customer service) she advised us that she would not be providing us a refund as the photos online reflect that of the room. This could not be further from the truth. She ‘kindly’ offered to have the shower issue looked at- honestly appalling that she did not have this fixed prior to our arrival as it just added to the horrific ambience of the place. You literally cannot use the hot water. You can either have a scolding hot shower or ice cold, there is no in between. On top of that the manager was EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. We regret not reading more thoroughly through the reviews online. I have nothing to gain out of writing this review my only hope is that other people don’t suffer the same experience we did.

Just The Sound of the Waves

We just spent five nights in dual-key units 208-A and 208-B at Amaroo at Trinity. We have stayed before and love how ALL the deluxe units are so different. It's like a top quality box of chocolates and you never know which surprise you are going to get. The views from the units are SPECTACULAR, the rooms are super clean, the staff are extremely helpful, and the fact that there is no main road below the cliff means there is no road noise. The sounds of the waves crashing on the beach is something I don't think could be found anywhere else.

Well appointed family apartment

We spent five nights at Marlin Cove in a two-bedroom apartment. It was well appointed with a full kitchen, laundry and two bathrooms. We were grateful for the ceiling fans plus the air conditioning in all the rooms - well needed in Summer. We used the lagoon pool and spa but not the lap pool, sauna or games room but they looked good too. Just a five minute walk to Trinity Beach and only 20 mins to Cairns. We’d definitely return.

10 Night Booking for Family Holiday

Reviewed By Linda C

Travelled to have a family holiday, finally after 2 years unable to travel, with daughter & her family, staying in separate apartments. Great location, close to walking beach, restaurants and not as busy as Cairns or Palm Cove. Gardens and pool area kept in excellent condition and shaded pool area great for families with children. Balcony nice with a lovely lookout over the pool area and a bit of beach. The apartment, whilst roomy was very dated, with a good paint job and upgrade badly needed. We stayed in apartment 37, asked for the fans to be cleaned so we could use, on the second day of our stay, which didn't happen while we were there. The queen size bed was extremely uncomfortable, old mattress with foam topper over which did nothing for comfort. The TV remote in the bedroom, did not work well, lounge room chairs were old and uncomfortable, and one of them is actually broken. Bathrooms are most dated, where one toilet cistern had been replaced, the holes in the wall and paintwork around where old cistern was had not been patched and painted. Promote Nespresso Coffee machines in each apartment, so we took our coffee pods with us, unfortunately, the Nespresso machine in our apartment did not work, the top would not close where you put in the pods. Most kitchen utensils and crockery really need to be updated. Underground car park is good, however, with no lifts you are left to carry everything up stairs, which is okay for the younger ones but would not recommend for older people or people with health and mobility limitations. As we upgraded to a superior apartment, we expected it to be more up to date and better cared for. We had a better view of the pool for our upgrade. I would just hope that the owners, and all are individually owned, took better care of their investment that they want people to pay good money to stay there. We stayed for 10 nights, and no housekeeping was done, they promote weekly housekeeping, therefore we had to try to keep our towels dry by hanging them on a rusty airer. For a holiday resort, and during peak holiday times, reception hours over the Easter long weekend were disappointing to say the least. Approx 1.5 hours of reception, not good enough. I don't like leaving bad reviews, however, despite the great location, gardens and pool area, we will not be returning to this resort.

Lovely apartment, questionable plumbing and staff

Reviewed By rachel2012255068

We stayed at a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment at Vue. It was an aesthetically nice, spacious apartment with a large well stocked kitchen, nice dining table inside and outside and a large master bedroom. It’s in a great spot o the waterfront and close to the restaurants and cafes - highly recommend NV cafe for a delicious break! The biggest issue was the bathroom, particularly the non functioning toilet. The toilet didn’t flush and we raised this with hotel management who assured us they had discussed with the plumber who said we just needed to hold both the half and full flush buttons down for at least three seconds to make it work and said it was a ‘new toilet thing’. Unfortunately this bizarre ‘new age’ toilet trick didn’t even manage to flush paper so we just (rather inconveniently) just avoided using it. The bathtub also wouldn’t drain which we also raised with management who advised us to ‘just have to use a knife’ to lever the plug off because the bath had been ‘over-designed’. Strangely, the attendant on the day didn’t respond to say the room had been checked after we raised the plumbing concerns (we went down to reception to discuss on our way back in from a day trip) but noticed that he had left the print out of email we sent the previous night about the plumbing issues in my toiletry bag. Overall, it was a great location, lovely pool and a good size room but probably wouldn’t stay again. Both because of the bathroom but because the staff tried to gaslight us into thinking that using a knife to unplug a bath and needing to flush a toilet multiple times after use (to limited effect) was a standard and acceptable feature of a luxury apartment.

Great waterfront apartment

Reviewed By Jacqui M

We stayed here for four nights following our road trip from Brisbane. We had a 1st floor apartment overlooking the seafront. The apartments are large and were great for our party of four. The master bedroom is ensuite and has a large spa bath and shower. The 2nd bedroom is opposite a large bathroom as well. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area in side and on the balcony and a great lounge area. There is also a laundry and this has everything you need in it. We would definitely stay here again. A couple of things to note - nothing big for us but worth knowing - if you want to use the laundry you need to buy washing powder and the apartments are not serviced so if you stay for longer you need to provide things to keep you going - dishwasher powder and toilet rolls for example.
