I don't expect much from an Express but.....
Reviewed By Steve BWe all know Express is the budget option and so we expect nothing much. No restaurant other than for breakfast, no bar, no fripperies. This is no different. Except it is. The breakfast menu is squarely aimed at the Chinese palate, one I have never acquired. Our first morning, seeing nothing palatable whatever, I resigned myself to watching my companion scoffing noodles, dumplings and whatever floated her boat whilst I drank juice. The restaurant manager, to my shame I cannot recall his name, is wasted there and should be moved immediately to one of their prestige hotels. On the ball every moment. Spotted me and unbidden came and offered to get me anything in his power. Bacon? I said. Pork sausages instead of those abominations of chicken sausages? Sunny side up eggs? They had no bacon or sausages according to the cook and you can't provide what you don't have yet from somewhere some poor quality American type bacon appeared and (sorry IHG but don't blame them!) some typically Chinese sausages that I was unable to eat. Sunny side eggs were great! The man went above and beyond and I wonder just what he could achieve with a 5 star restaurant at his disposal. Elsewhere the staff were exemplary in their cheerfulness and helpfulness. On arrival I had been dismayed to find no bar soap (I hate gel) or razors in the room, nor body lotion. The first two were rectified instantly, the latter they don't stock so no black mark there. The public areas were extremely clean and the room was spotless. There was noise from the corridor early evening but later all was quiet with good sleep quality. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, including a great Japanese barbecue. They should sell their little sausages to the hotel for breakfast! Exceeded all my expectations and should I return to Tianshui there is nowhere else I would stay. No hesitation in recommending this friendly and excellent hotel, a credit to IHG.

Excellent value for money
Reviewed By RutkoVery good hotel for a low price. Decent breakfast, good service. Comfortable room. We stayed one night, arrived very late at night and required assistance with finding a car and driver to Maiji Shan the next day. The room we got smelled of cigarettes, we spoke to reception and within a 5 minutes someone came to our room to move us to another one. Considering the chinese habits of smoking in hotel rooms, issue was well dealt with.

Comfortable Inn
Reviewed By EKYSeremban_MalaysiaStayed 1 night in room 503 in March after visiting the must-visit Maiji Shan Grottoes. Free Wifi is available throughout the hotel. Hallway is carpeted. Room size is small especially with a King size bed; mattress is firm with 4 pillows and the flooring is fake wood. This is an inn where minimal furnishing is the order of the day. There’s a writing desk and chair and a mounted flatscreen TV above the writing desk. A clothes rack with hangers instead of bulky closet. And finally 2 side tables beside the bed make up the rest of the furnishing. Paper slippers provided as well as bathroom amenities (toothbrush and comb). No fridge, no in-room safe, no iron and ironing board but there is an electric kettle. Plug points located above one of the side table and the writing desk. Bathroom seems to be made of fiber glass shell. 1 lift serves all floors (highest is 6th). Breakfast is basic catering to Asian palate but the staffs manning the restaurant deserve a gold medal for being courteous, helpful and cheerful. As we arrived in the evening, tried without success in locating any restaurant that can satisfy our “wants”. To be fair, there are a few restaurants selling Sichuan food within walking distance but that’s not for us. Finally found some roadside stalls selling hawker-style food in front of the hotel which we took back to the hotel.

Nice Hotel
Reviewed By GeekGal101We stayed in a business suite on the top floor and were very happy with the room and the hotel in general. The morning breakfast is good and has a wide variety of food choices. The staff is not fluent in English but is still eager to help and tried to please despite the language barrier. Each evening we received a fruit or dessert at our room along with the next days breakfast ticket which was a nice touch. Great location to the downtown area and within walking distance of markets, mall, and bus lines. The room was inexpensive too; great value. The only minor item to note is the 1 English language TV station., so not much variety.

房間很棒位置也很棒，但廁所設計不良
Reviewed By Ufocity1999這個飯店出乎全家意料之外，就在大馬路旁面對百貨公司位置超棒，而且附近很寬敞賣吃的也不少，房間設施幾乎都是自動的，一切都很棒，早餐種類也很多，聽附近天水居民說，這家飯店是附近最貴的最高級的，難怪房間很棒，但其實價格很親民，應該是天水物價低的緣故，唯一缺點是廁所很小設計不良，東西都很不順手，還有廁所透明窗戶對著房間，所以必須用窗簾遮住才好洗澡，晚上若廁所留燈，就會無法徹底遮光仍有餘光，但這家飯店還是我們此行中很棒的回憶，比起其他飯店，真的是服務一流房間超乾淨，就是廁所非常不順手，而且水也不大。

Surprise find - good stay and food
Reviewed By CrescentraIt is 5km away from the high speed rail station and 200m across the road is the bus station to maiji grottoes. We read some chinese good reviews about this place and switch from a nearby place. It was such a good decision! (it is not in the main busy paty of the city where most people live, and my aim is the grottoes and have no interest going into the city) You can do it as a day trip from xi'an if you manage your timing well else this place is a good choice We enjoyed the breakfast, the room service can serve simple and cheap fried rice and soup noodle, or something more elaborated which is done well (from the restaurant on 2nd floor which somehow cannot accommodate us and need to bring the food to our room - they could give real chopsticks instead of disposable ones!) Coffee from Jura machine during breakfast is perfect. Room is a little dated but fully functional Front desk staff can smile a little more, I misplaced my hot water flask during breakfast and they kept and help me retrieved it! Not sure of their english skills since I converse with them in chinese

Some difficulties in english language, overcome by the good availability of the personnel. Good breakfast included in the price, hotel really recommended

甘肃天水，速8一家不错的店了！
Reviewed By 宝云道2号天水速8，挺好的，在天水市算是比较不错的宾馆了，干净便宜。离天水市政府不远，楼下有28路公交车，可以到天水火车站，挺方便的。宾馆房间各种物品都摆的挺整洁的，环境不错。床也挺大挺干净的，卫生间还行，就是热水不是热，而且水管还都生了铁锈，这点让人感觉有点不舒服。总体感觉还不错了。
