Reviewed By joybells99We had a king room with a sofa, and knew the location is a bit noisy, due to traffic and trains. Due to COVID, PRICES HAVE CERTAINLY GONE WAY UP! We felt that breakfast certainly was nothing to write home about, but was okay in a pinch. The bed was great, which really helps, when you're away from home.

Old unrenovated hotel
Reviewed By crlesage1Pool not maintained for several years, so keeps breaking, not informed before check-in. Called the hotel approximately 30 hours before arrival and told it was working, employee at hotel said it had been broken for days. Waiting for manager to contact us. Employees at breakfast were very friendly. Mismatched furniture, very high beds, unsafe windows, bathroom needs renovation. Expensive for what you get.

Broken heater, refused to refund
Reviewed By eunhopeMe and my family recently stayed at Sheraton Guildford hotel for the night on April 27th. We booked 3 rooms for my families to stay during our trip to BC and one of the rooms we booked, the heater didn’t work. It was the room that me, mother and my 11 month boy stayed. We didn't noticed right away but around midnight, I noticed that the room got colder, I didn’t know i can check the current room temperature at that time. If I knew it, I might call the front desks earlier. I tried to do everything on my end before complaining. I kept increasing target temperature on thermostat every hour from 71 to 80 degree to make the room warmer but it didn’t work. And my baby was kept crying and crying, couldn’t sleep because he was too cold. I had to get him out of crib and hold him. The room was freezing cold although thermostate temperature was set all the way to 80. So I made a phone call to the front desk at 4:50 am but I got an answer from the front that there was nothing that they can do as there is no maintenance person at night. The front desk lady offered me to move to a new room at 5 am with a sleeping baby and all other belongings which was not a reasonable. And she also offered extra blankets but per The American Academy of Pediatrics, 11 month old baby should not sleep with blankets, pillows or anything else in there crib to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome so that offer was also not a reasonable solution for us. I called my husband who was staying with his father in other room. When he walked in to the room, He noticed window (to the outside) was not shut all the way and cold air was blowing in. The window was all the way up behind a curtain and i don’t know since when this has been opened. Nobody touched the window probably it was housekeeping opened it for a cleaning before we even checked in the room. He immediately shut the window and thought the issue would be resolved once the heater kicks back on but, came to find out that the heater unit was not still working. At this point my boy was showing bit of fever-like symptoms, the front desk sent me a small portable heater but it was too loud and not really effective so we ended up moving everyone into another room for the rest of the night and obviously, we all pretty much were not able to get a good rest/sleep. We contacted the director of the room and she refused to refund said “ we did offer to help by moving to you to another room where you would not have had to share with other family members, making it more comfortable for everyone. We also offered extra blankets and a heater if moving was not what you wanted to do, you declined all our attempts to make you more comfortable. We are sorry that you are unhappy with your stay, however you did have your room for close to 12 hours before you noticed a problem then declined any option to fix the problem. As a result the hotel does not feel that we are obligated to refund the night for this room. I would not stay this hotel again and would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Horrible attitude towards a pregnant women.
Reviewed By raizelm2021I tried to get a free morning breakfast and got turned away only to be told that it was my fault for not listening correctly. Then they continued to shame & embarrassed me when I was already in tears from my out of control pregnancy's hormones.. not only did I have to wait there while nobody stood up for me I was made to feel stupid and disrespected as a paying guest. I will never come back to this place after my experience just to get a free complimentary breakfast.

The rooms were clean, and the complimentary breakfast was perfect. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a safe, clean place to stay. The staff ALL deserve kudos from the front desk, to the maids and the lovely ladies making breakfast. Top notch property.

Reviewed By Uddin02It was my first stay at Civic hotel, and at the time of my check in the front desk were very welcoming. Room was a bit small but the view was great. I strongly recommend this hotel for the view and staff are awesome. If I have any request housekeeper are right on the door dropping things. There was a courtesy text as well to see if I need anything. Little feedback about the Dominion restaurant is that servers don't seem to be very excited to be working. The food was great and delicious.

Expensive, but safe, clean and good
Reviewed By gkv2014Stayed here for three nights from 5/23/22 to 5/25/22. It is at the heart of Surrey, BC. Maintained very clean and very well. It is probably a Apartment building converted to a hotel. All are Suite rooms with 1 or 2 bedrooms. A full sized kit hen is available for long term stay. Close to all amenities in Surrey. Very safe place for staying alone and car parking is secured as well. excellent service
