Reviewed By Frank WSpending a few days at the hotel Gl. Skovriddergaard in Silkeborg was a really nice experience. We got a junior suite in the oldest building with a lot of space - and tons of charm! The hotel is located in the outskirts of what is said to be Denmarks largest forest, which in this case means numerous possibilities for outdoors life - with a lot of idyllic paths along many small lakes. For us, this was perfect! Add to this a very good kitchen, and a friendly and most helpful staff - and it goes without saying that we will come back!

Annonced my late arrivel to the receptionist before the start if the stay - and was told that the reception would be open until 6 p.m. I arrived at 17.30 in rain, debris and darkness. Impressive, the place looked from the car - so big and beautiful. My joy dropped slightly as I made my way to the entrance. An envelope was pasted with tape on the door to the hotel, on which my name was written in capital letters. Get off the tape, open the envelope - and there in the dark - whitout an eye - I would have to figure out how to get in. I succeeded - and inside the hotel I could read through information and to do quietly. Into the elevator and up to the fourth floor - all alone - without meeting a human being and without hearing a single sound. It is problably the most empty and sad meeting I have ever had with a hotel. Food and drink for the evening I had in my suitcase - the kitchen was not open this Saturday evening. The room was fine and mega hot. In the washbasin were leftover toothpaste from previous guest. Breakfast buffet was okay and space was reserved at the buffet with name. Definitely a beautiful place - it’s just not a place I will visit again. The best thoughts for Vejlsøhus from me.

Luxurious Bed and Breakfast in a beautiful nature surroundings in Engesvang. Placed only 5 minutes from the highway, 15 minutes to Herning, 45 minutes to Aarhus and 10 minutes to Silkeborg center. New renovated rooms furnished with luxury furnitures from House Doctor, moreover there is free coffee/tea facilities and individual shower and toilet. Free wi-fi and possibility to order breakfast.

Reviewed By oldekrogen2We were going on a family visit in nearby Silkeborg and found the hotels to pricey for what we needed. Found Hedegaarden B&B in Engesvang with high ratings and decided to try. It is located down a forest road with hardly anyone around. It is a very peaceful and beautiful area. The room we stayed in was very small but had a new bathroom. The room is clean and well kept, and there was amenities in and outside the room such as fruit, coffee, tea and little biscuits. The B&B has a spacious common room where breakfast is also eaten. The outdoor facilities looked very nice with a bbq area, trampoline and giant size chess.

The room we got was not what we hoped for, but it was very time specific and charming. Up under the roof, the room got very hot during the night, but hey, it was charming never the less. The bar/restaurant area on the ground floor was amazing. Typical old local kro.

Reviewed By Siweg81From the outside, this place looks unspectacular. At the inside, a cozy atmosphere is revealed! Many work colleagues of mine had already recommended this place and they was right. The food (The "Paarup gryde") was so tasty that you literally melt like butter in a frying pan when leaving the place. You want to eat superb in this rural area of Mid Jutland, this is the place to go!

Der er internet, linned og håndklæder med i prisen. Morgenmad kan tilkøbes, men man kan sagtens selv have mad med. Der er kombineret microovn/ ovn, køleskab og kogeplader.
