Seafood, Onsen and caring staff

Reviewed By cranapple5

The hotel is across from Sakaiminato JR station, about a 50min (cute) train ride from Yonago. The area has one of the largest ports known for snow crabs and all sorts of fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Visitors enjoy the crab markets in the area and seafood restaurants on a street with the theme of comic creatures by Muzuki Shigeru, a famous cartoonist from the area. This hotel itself was amazing. It was spotless, and every details from Ikebana flower arrangement to comfortable room with all sorts of amenities made us feel welcome. For foreign travelers they had a handout in English explaining their system. This enabled the foreign guests take full advantage of what the hotel offered. The top floor had natural Onsen hot spring baths with water so soothing to the skin. All necessary amenities were prepared by the hotel. The breakfast was known for create-yourself-Chirashi sushi and all the spread at the buffet with Japanese and western foods. Again the seafood here was so fresh. What made this hotel so special was the staff. Their hospitality was genuine, and showed they care. They made us feel like we came back to a home away from home. Definitely worth the experience.

Housekeeping need improvement with great onsen managed by third party

Reviewed By JaegerLim

Stayed in sea view twin room , room are a little old and one of the room had a faint weird smell. The air con filter need to be clean regularly by the housekeeping team . It was choke full with dirt and it had a better airflow once I cleaned it . The onsen is managed by 3rd party with hotel guest get free usage . Expect it to be more busy on certain timing since the usage are higher with local resident using it via pay-per use However there are plenty of different pool size for use hence you won’t feel it crowded most of the time.

Excellent service

From the moment we arrived till we departed, excellent service from all the staff was experienced. A relaxed check in comfort accompanied by drinks. The rooms had so many facilities not seen in most hotels, e.g. the face wash, shaving foam and aftershave in addition to moisturiser and lotions for ladies. Complimentary Snacks & teabags were refreshed daily. The best experience was the keseki dinners we enjoyed on both nights. Besides the fresh ingredients, the two serving staff went out of their way to translate the ingredients so that we could understand. I hope that hotel management will convey the appreciation from all of us staying in 301-304. I attached a photo.

An unexpectedly comfortable hotel

Reviewed By 260yvonnel

I don’t read Japanese but I do read Chinese, so I was able to understand perhaps 50% of written Japanese with the help of Kanji. During breakfast (free of charge buffet breakfast), I looked around the dining lobby and discovered a lot of signs showing that this hotel spent a lot of effort in researching how to make people sleep better. I really slept so well during the three nights of stay here. It was even better than the bed at my home! My mum and I could fall asleep within three minutes into bed all three nights! The buffet breakfast is of good quality too. The dishes were changed everyday. And it was truly completely free of charge. Bikes are available for borrowing. Sadly I didn’t get the time to cycle around Tottori, but it is for sure a city suitable for cycling around, because there were not many people on the streets. I guess I won’t return to Tottori in the near future, but if I do, I am more than willing to come back to this hotel!

Terribly overrated

Reviewed By n s

Very disappointing. This place is presented as a luxury hotel/spa Japanese-style and draws very positive reviews on TripAdvisor and Japanese sites. Supposedly serving gourmet food including a signature meal centring on blowfish (fugu). So the disappointments first. The fugu meal was unremarkable and considering the price tab a real bust -- many of the dishes included seemed like some formulaic preparation at a chain restaurant. The staff were lifeless, showed no enthusiasm for serving you, and offered little hospitality -- surprising because elsewhere in Hagi we were struck by how friendly, upbeat and keen to help everyone was. The hotel was situated right against a busy highway. And the mattresses seemed pretty worn -- you could feel the coil springs. On the positive side, the view from the dining room across Hagi Bay and the islands was pretty spectacular-- too bad you could not eat the view. And the lay out of the rooms was spacious and thoughtfully done. It is hard to feel good about paying so much for such an indifferent stay.

Thank you with all my heart

We stayed only one night here to visit the famous Izumo Taisha. Beautiful little place and this hotel is literally steps away from the station. The rooms are small, so navigation can be tricky if you have big suitcases, but everything else is impeccably clean and thoughtful. They even have a drawer full of little beauty items (masks, makeup remover etc) for female guests! Beds are big and so comfortable. Best part of the hotel: the people. Their service goes above and beyond what you would expect even from renowned Japanese hospitality. Upon dropping off our luggage I quickly realized that my careless boyfriend had left his bag full of money and valuables on the train we took to Izumo. Thankfully, Mr Kai Shinji was around and brought us to the train station and helped us communicate the situation to the very kind and helpful station master. Mr Kai Shinji was ever patient and smiley, and later that same day we had our bag back with us with everything intact. A very very big thank you to Mr Kai Shinji and all the loveliness of Super Hotel! This hotel chain is always among my top picks whenever I visit Japan :)

We stayed there for two nights at the end of Nov. It isn't located near the Tottori JR Station, guess it takes abt 10 mins to walk there. There are some shops along the streets. After check-in, the staff gave me a bag of amenity. Shavers are available on front desk. Parking lot is available for guests. They charge for 500 yen. Room is clean and bed is comfy too. Wifi is okay.

Inishie no Yado Keiun

A new & modern hotel with classic Japanese attention to details.

Reviewed By spr_smmlx

Stayed a night during our trip to Izumo, not knowing what to expect but booked it because it had good reviews. Stunned by the spacious lobby and very well appointed interior decor - beautiful tatami hallways and lots of wooden beams and sand plaster walls creates a traditional Japanese feel - yet with all the modern amenity like central heating, wifi, and a great coffee free of charge at the lounge area. Some rooms has roten-buro (bath) in balcony, made from Hinoki. The hotel also has many public baths and saunas, it is a true luxury to stretch at one of them and then enjoy a free candy bar and ramen after the bath. The food was excellent too. Due to the fact it is a big hotel (Usagi and Keiun - two hotels connected, Keiun being quieter and high grade), you need to pre-book the breakfast and dinner time upon reservation, and the food service feels like served by airline cabin crew (efficient and fast) - but the quality of each dish is well above average. Will definitely stay again.

Located just a few steps outside the north exit of Izumoshi station. We deposited our luggages there since we were early and they were already placed in our room when we came back later to check in. Free coffee was provided 24 hrs in the lobby. On the 11th floor was the outdoor and indoor Onsen. Free beer and snacks was provided one glass per guest on the 11th floor in the evening. There was also free ramen provided from 9.30pm onwards. Washer was free to use but dryer cost 100 yen for 20mins. If you chose not to have housekeeping for a day, u get their special brand of instant cup noodles. Overall, v happy with my stay. Hotel was also v new and modern. Enjoyed my 2 nights stay here. Highly recommended!
