Hotel Kyrie Isole Tremiti

Hotel Kyrie is located within a large pine wood overlooking the sea, where the Mediterranean maquis meets the cobalt blue sea. The hotel, pure gem of the Tremiti Islands, stands in a privileged position, close to the characteristic village of San Domino, and a few meters far from the famous Cala Tramontana, attainable by foot on a catwalk for the exclusive use of the guests. It is inserted in a natural context of an extraordinary beauty, far away from the routes of mass tourism. The structure of the Hotel Kyrie Tremiti Islands copies the traditional local architecture, where the roofs never exceed the vegetation, where the white of the plasters shelters from the heat of the sun, and where the pine trees are part of the landscape. In the main building there are some of the rooms and the main services, while an area of villas surrounded by greenery completes the offer of hospitality. Hotel Kyrie proposes a wide range of amenities and services based on a club formula with entertainment staff, an excellent restaurant with breakfast served at the poolside, the possibility to arrange pleasant excursions on the islands. There are also a swimming pool, bowl courts and sport equipments. To the east the great complex of the Benedictine Abbey, the Lateran fortifications and the barbarian buildings are silhouetted on the Island of St. Nicholas San Domino is the largest island among the minor ones of the archipelago of Tremiti Island and it is the richest and the most varied one thanks to the splendor of its panoramas, its natural landscapes and atmospheres obtained by skillfully combining the most lush and magnificent aspects of land, sea and sky

Great Island Hotel

Reviewed By Mark E

We stayed at this hotel for three nights on a B&B basis in the last week of September. Pick up and drop off at the ferry terminal is free by minivan and check in was welcoming and hassle free. Most rooms are chalet style and are well equipped and comfortable. The staff are excellent and cannot do enough for their guests. Breakfast is very good with a wide choice of foods, including scrambled eggs. The hotel even filled our Thermos with boiing water for us in order that we could make tea in our room, keeping the milk in our room's refrigerator. I recommend this hotel for couples looking for a quiet break and think it has the best location on the island.

Italian charm

Reviewed By Pinklouloum

Reading reviews for this property I was a little hesitant however, rooms are very spacious, spectacular views, very good air con and lovely staff. Yes it’s dated but I feel that just adds charm. It’s spotlessly clean, food is good and reasonably priced for such a tiny island and the terrace views where you dine are stunning. Beach is very close and beautiful but beware it’s €10 per subbed and a parasol is also €10. You can opt to put your towel on the rocks though. My only criticism is the tiny shower cubicle, we are both slender people so not sure how a larger person would fit... feel this could be easily fixed considering the size of the bathroom.

Villaggio Touring Club Italiano - Isole Tremiti

Reviewed By Alessia P

I spent some time at the Touring Village in the island of San Domino, Tremiti, with my family. The accommodation is in bungalows covered with straw, that perfectly fit under the pine trees of a typical Mediterranean “pineta”. Bungalows are small but full of comforts, with private facilities. There is a direct access to the sea at “Cala degli Inglesi”, fully equipped and reserved to the village guests. The rocky nature of the island makes it not very suitable for babies and toddlers, neither for people with mobility issues. However, it is perfect from 6-7 year-old and even better for teens, that can enjoy sport courses (rowing, tennis, basketball, football, etc.). Entertainment is very professional, discrete, and not at all annoying (i. e. If you do not want to be disturbed, they let you in peace). Food is excellent and abundant, even if you are late at lunch or dinner. It is served in buffet formula and empty dishes are immediately refilled. Desserts are outstanding. What about the island? Wonderful sea, hidden places to discover by boat or canoe, walking paths into the nature, historical building to visit (in San Nicola island, just in front of San Domino). To sum up, a very good place to spend your holidays with family or friends, in full respect of nature. Extremely recommended.

Beautiful view, lack of warmth

Reviewed By Car0v

We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel because we had paid a premium to be in one of the rooms with the little terrace overlooking the fabulous view of San Nicola island. When we arrived to the island by ferry all the other hotel shuttle buses were waiting except Hotel Gabbiano's. We had walked all the way up the hill towards the hotel before we saw it driving towards us. We accept that sometimes there are unavoidable delays but the driver loaded our bags without a word of greeting or apology. Not a great start. I would agree with retogisin75's experience that the the general attitude of the staff was not very welcoming; on the whole they gave the impression they were far too distracted by their work to put effort into acknowledging guests. The exception to this was a young lady who worked in the restaurant who offered bright and cheery greetings every day, and the cleaners who were friendly and very efficient (the hotel was very clean, if dated). When we booked we'd had the impression that the hotel was set away from other properties but this isn't the case and it can get very noisy at weekends (the first night we were there we were regaled by such delights as "rock around the clock" and the Beachboys' "Barbara" until 3am). Midweek it is quieter. The breakfast offered a basic choice of cereal, yoghurt, poor quality ham and cheese, bread and an array of Italian cakes that didn't always seem very fresh. No fruit was on offer but it seemed you could request fruit from the waiters (we bought ours from the local shop and ate that), we did request some tomatoes once, and noticed that an Italian guest requested salami. The coffee was very good and freshly made to order. We only ate dinner at the hotel once (reviewed on the restaurant section) and thankful that we didn't go half board because guests who chose that option were seated to the back of the restaurant (no lovely view then) and had to eat a limited choice within a one hour time frame. The islands are very beautiful, we will return but not to this hotel.

Simple but clean and friendly

Reviewed By Angela B

I chose this hotel deliberately as it was not listed on UK booking sites. I was looking for somewhere completely Italian and it was. We were the only UK or indeed any other foreign guests. I was pretty sure this would guarantee good food and a family atmosphere and I was right. The room was small and basic but had everything we needed. There is no pool but a pleasant terrace and garden area. The hotel provides a minibus to the beach and port area. Prices on the island are expensive and this hotel is no exception as it would be considered very simple by UK standards. But we felt it gave good value. We had half board and the food was excellent. Breakfast was typically Italian in other words, cake! However I asked for cheese, ham and eggs and they were happy to provide it. The one thing I hated was plastic cups for the fruit juice. It may prove a problem if you don’t speak Italian though as I don’t think the staff spoke English. We were a bit dubious at first but the place grew on me and I would stay there again.

Don't Bother

I made the mistake of spending two nights at Albergo Rossana. Maybe it was because it was the middle od September and most restaurants were closed. The room was very small and we seemed to be the only guests in the hotel. There appeared to be larger rooms with balconies that were not offered to us. There was no safe in the room despite the written room instructions that said there was one. There was no reliable wifi either only a public wifi that stopped working after one day. The breakfast was poor: only coffee, croissant and one piece of cake. No eggs, meat or cereal.

Time of our lives!

We stayed at Le Viole and were initially thrown by the distance to the sea. We shouldn't have been all it took was one walk down to see that it is a breathtaking walk and it is only 10 minutes away. It truly feels like you have arrived at a wonderful spot where you can go on to relax and do what you will to unwind. The night time entertainment was very nice as was the food and drink. Every night it felt like we had the option to have a quiet one or to carry on as there was the choice to do both. We slept soundly. I would recommend it without hesitation!
