10/10!

We had a truly wonderful time at Elephant Plains. From the airport pickup, to the game drives, food, and lodging, we never had a stressful moment. Dylan was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide who always listened and made sure to check in on everyone during the game drives. The food was delicious, and I can't think of a single complaint about our luxurious lodging. Overall, highly recommend for anyone wanting a safari - we saw every animal imaginable in our 2.5 days there.

Great camp yo visit.

This was a great camp. We would probably give it a 4 1/2 instead of 5 if that was offered. The only draw back from the lodge was the quality of the food. We felt it could have been a little better but was a minor issue. We were treated very well by the entire staff. Our guide was great and we had some great animal viewing. On our back deck we were able to view animals including elephants about 50 yards away. We also woke up one morning to a hippo on the front lawn. The room was nice with a great shower. I would not hesitate to go to this camp again.

There really are no words to do Ivory Lodge justice. We had pretty high expectations and from start to finish it was better than we could have imagined. The Big 5 on multiple days. The small things will blow you away. The knowledgeable guide Ruvan (who humbly did not mention his Top 5 South African guides nomination) and expert tracker Noel were superb. My only regret is that I have now spoiled my kids forever. Kudos to the owners for such an excellent product.

Magical place that will enchant even the most skeptical

My partner and I spent 5 nights at Leopard Hills and we could not have had a better experience. The manager, Duncan, and his team have created a wonderful environment for anyone who wants to experience the South African bush. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed and offer special surprises like elephants drinking from your suite's pool. The meals are very good and offer great opportunities to observe the passing cavalcade of wild animals that pass in front of the lodge. The highlight, of course, is the twice-a-day drives. We had a thoughtful and patient guide, Stu, and a very skilled tracker, Mo. My sense is that all of the teams are very good. We were also lucky to have other people in our vehicle who weren't just there to tick off the Big Five but actually wanted to learn from Stu and Mo about the habits and social configurations of the many species on this reserve including birds, reptiles and plants. Were there special moments? It was all special but we will never forget watching a leopard eat an Impala carcass up a tree and a pride of lions where the mothers were busy training their offspring in the art of hunting. My wife was somewhat reluctant to do a "safari". After two days, she was the one talking about our next visit. And, yes, we will go back to Leopard Hills.

Leopard, Lions Hunt, Baby Giraffe… with amazing guides, and in a cozy place!

Reviewed By fribelle

This was the experience of a lifetime! Surrounded by very competent, experienced and enthusiastic guides, and extremely kind and caring staff. The place is beautiful, cozy, modern within the tents and so atypical, you can only fall in love with it. The air conditioning was also very welcomed during the cold nights of this winter season. The menu is chosen for you, and you got to have delicious typical diner around the bonfire. Breakfast is served by the pool, with lots of choice, and in some cases with the company of monkeys, ready to keep a piece of your food for themselves. They are cute and funny to watch. During the night, you can hear the roar of the lions, or the call of the hyenas… it is thrilling! We got to see a leopard in our own camp! All the trackers were protecting us of any danger and it’s just a memory to cherish forever. The Game (aka Safari) is incredible and comes with great surprises for everyone. Derek has been amazing to find all the perks such as the baby giraffe, the leopard, the lions hunt and their feast, and so many more! I wish I could stay forever!

Amazing experience!

Reviewed By MurdenS

We arrived at the lodge for a four night safari break and although on first impressions we thought the accommodation was a little rustic, we had the most wonderful stay. You don’t come to such a place for a plush room, you come for the safari experience and we got just that, in buckets! Our ranger and tracker Opa and David were absolutely fantastic, incredibly warm, kind, funny, incredibly knowledgeable and determined to give us the best safari experience possible and they delivered! We saw the big 5 most game drives and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw whatever animals were requested by the group. We enjoyed chatting to them both during sundowners, just lovely people to be around. The lodge itself is run incredibly well and everything went like clockwork. Meals were fantastic and there was no chance of going hungry! The service given by Ophan was wonderful, who is another asset to the lodge like Opa and David. The rest of the team, Leo and FC are also a credit and we again enjoyed spending time with them and learning from them. Our only criticism was the shower in our room wasn’t very powerful and water went all over the floor everytime but not a biggie. Would highly recommend :)

We have visited Dulini Moyo twice and each time it has been more lovely than we could ever have imagined. The rooms were a tasteful combination of elegance and comfort, with so many personal touches. The detail put into the room left me longing to have more time to take it all in and enjoy it to its fullest. Just some of my favorites: the splash pool, kept at perfect temperature, over looking a river bed, the ceiling high curtains separating the different areas of the room created a fairytale feeling, outdoor shower, Victorian bath, even the aroma in the room was divine. The game viewing could not have been better, each guest was asked what they would like to see and Jem and Bright ensured no one was disappointed. Every meal was a wonderful surprise, a new venue and a wide variety of choices served in an interesting and classy manner. Not to mentioned the wonderful James who made you feel completely at home and cared for. Our wish is to visit again and for everyone we love to experience this remarkable experience.
