The hotel is located on the sun-drenched side of Saanen. "The Lightness of Being" is the motto of hosts Mr. And Mrs. Ilse and Michel Wichman and their team. The 50 rooms with 110 beds offer spectacular views of the region's beautiful landscape. A games room will be set up for children. The service includes seasonal brasserie cuisine in the restaurant, as well as wellness, fitness and swimming pool facilities, a sauna/steam bath and a Kneipp hydrotherapy and massage area.

Reviewed By emiromerWe stayed 4 nights.The hotel is 3 star but I m sure ıts better than mostly 4 stars.All staffs were very helpful and friendly, specially the girls in front desk.Breakfast were very good and enough.we had one dinner also good,Room was very nice alpine style decorated and spacious .Spa was also good and enough, The owner is managing hotel perfectly This hotel adminstration should be taken as an ideal example

Very Friendly & Helpful Staff, Exceptional Dining and Great Room with a View
Reviewed By dereksS553GLWe stayed two nights in a good sized room with a balcony and view of the mountains. The room was clean and well maintained and the hotel as a whole deserved its 4 star rating. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the two evenings dining we had in the restaurant was an exceptional dining experience with 1st class cuisine. There is a good wellness area with hot tub, relaxation room, sauna and steam room of which I experienced the latter two. There is also a really nice relaxing garden area and underground parking for about 40 cars with 5 bays having free EV charging stations. The hotel is very conveniently situated close to the beautiful town of Gstaad within easy walking distance. Overall a very memorable stay, one we would definitely like to repeat.

The staff were wonderful attending to our every requirement, exceptional food and our room was lovely. If you are lucky enough to be able to visit Gstaad, the Grand Bellevue is top notch.

Very kind staff from the managers to the staff of Breakfast, reception and housekeeping. All the time smiling and helpful. Just loved everything about this hotel and this tiny city in the beautiful Switzerland. Highly recommend ☀️

Very nice stay
Reviewed By Jean MWe stayed 2 nights there and enjoyed The Grand Chalet a lot. The location is 10 minutes walk out of the center and extremely quiet. The building has been refurbished and looks like new and offers most facilities of a high level hotel. The major positive point is however a truly wonderful, numerous and welcoming staff (This must be noted as it is unfortunately so often a weak point in the Swiss hospitality sector). The room was large enough and we appreciated the nice wooden floor but our only, relative, disappointment, was with its very basic furniture that looked a bit out of place in an otherwise nicely decorated house. Equipment was also minimal with no possibility to make coffee or tee in the room. This is a bit mean for a place that is all but cheap ! The hotel has a small but very nice spa, unfortunately they chose to install some fitness machines in the same room making the relaxation area minimalistic, in fact only 2 people at a time can enjoy it, which is a shame. Excellent wifi, free parking. All in all a good address

Nice hotel in season, nice bed and breakfast off season
Reviewed By Francois-SergeNice hotel, but avoid going there outside of the season, as they have minimum service. That means, nobody to help carrying your luggage, no restaurant, no room service, and you can park yourself in the parking of the hotel. A bit curious for a 5-star hotel, particularly when they only tell it to you after you have booked a non-refundable room. A good illustration: the temperature was far too high in the rooms and all temperature control units were without batteries, we were told to just open the windows. Why not! On the positive side, rooms are nice and well decorated, the spa staff and treatments are great, and the breakfast is nice. So I would certainly come back, but just know what you should expect off season!

Reviewed By 780DavidB780I advise staying anywhere but Hotel Bernerhof. The rooms on the top two floors are private apartments and the construction and renovation noise from these units make the hotel rooms uninhabitable. Management is completely unresponsive in dealing with the situation, offering only excuses and a complete inability to stop the incessant noise. Forget trying to work, take a nap, or enjoy Gstaad in a room with incessant construction noise above.

Four stars price for three stars (at most) stay

Also, we selected a so-called suite (in fact, just a standard room a little bigger) because we like attics. The price was high, but we were naive enough to think it would be matched by the quality of the room. Don’t be fooled, a three stars hotel stays a three stars even if you pay the price you would at a four (or five) stars. This was disappointing: a tiny bathroom, no kettle, no coffee machine, nothing, and no way to avoid the direct sun at 5am. At the end, a standard room is probably a much better option, with a balcony (there are none in the suites), some shutters, and a more reasonable price. The service at the breakfast was less than average (COVID time, maybe)…
