Awful customer service and seedy hotel that's not worth the money!!

Reviewed By InMyHonestOpinion1

We splashed out for what we thought would be a luxury room in a boutique hotel costing over £200 for our family (my husband and daughter) for the last two nights of our lovely holiday. What we found is that the 'Paris room' is not exactly how it was explained in the advert. There was a jacuzzi in the corner of the room, a curved sofa (which we later discovered was a tantra sofa), and a a vibrating bed and an huge central exhibition of the Eiffel tower. On investigating the room we discovered a magazine in a box with the remote controls (titled User guide) which was intended to give an explanation of how to use the Tantra sofa. This magazine included graphic sexual photos. As you can imagine...not something that you would like your sixteen year old daughter to stumble across. we then realised that the Eiffel tower is also presented to appear like a man bending over naked!! Hence to say that as a family we felt very uncomfortable in the room, and asked to be put in another room. The lady behind reception was aloof and said 'It is only a magazine, what do you want me to do, I can remove it and the sofa'...She was missing the point entirely and became quite confrontational, prodding me as I was trying to get our point across. Needless to say that we left the following day and did not stay the two nights intended, preferring to feel more 'comfortable' camping in our van. I hope that I have painted the picture that his room is not intended for use for a family, and I would say please don't waste your money or your time at this hotel. We were told that we could not get our money back!!! The Paris room is right by a busy noisy road and it sounded like there were cows opposite giving birth throughout the night. the air con did not work and the place smelt like a brothel. And also just to let you know that reception never answer the phone!! If you don't believe what I say, you only need to read the previous poor reviews (on google too) and the managers response to them. RUDE!!

School trip

Reviewed By Rubybell226

My daughter stayed here on a school trip. They accommodated a school party of 30 children due to the fact that their last hotel in the nearby town was a complete disaster. My daughter told me that this hotel was absolutely lovely. The swimming pool was lovely and had great facilities for teenage children unfortunately they didn’t eat here as they had to go back to the old hotel to eat as it had already been paid for. My daughter enjoyed her stay here so much but she said she would like us as a family to go there and experience what she did. She said that the rooms were nice and maybe a bit too small but apart from that very clean hotel. She explained it to me as it was like staying in someone’s home. I would like to say a big thank you to the owners for accommodating the school party at such short notice. Lovely country Side.

Posada Gran Sol

Great Value B and B

Reviewed By Ian-Swaledale

Our travel plans were in tatters after a delayed ferry crossing so we needed somewhere to stay near Santander. We booked in over the ships internet to the Posada Gran Sol and found it with not too much trouble as we had done our homework. If travelling from Santander you leave the motorway, skirt the Solvay plant and head up the hill towards Santilliana. The turning is on the left just before some traffic lights and a long bend to the right down a small road which looks like someone’s driveway. It’s on the right a little way down and is now painted pale green unlike the pictures on the internet. The owner came out to greet us and gave us a warm welcome in Spanish. The room was spotlessly clean and simply furnished and decorated, with central heating. She showed us that to obtain hot water we would need to run the tap for a few minutes. She offered us a simple breakfast at a time of our choice and the next morning at 7.30 am it was served in a nearby small room and consisted of real coffee, a large croissant to share and two squares of cake- which at 3 euros for two was a steal.( We had needed to eat quite early the previous evening and drove a couple of miles to Santilliana as there seemed to be nowhere open near by.) There is plenty of parking for 15 cars outside and the semi rural location looks very safe so we shall probably stay there again to and from the port.

Estancia cómoda y personal agradable

Reviewed By Hellinerita

Wonderful spa

Reviewed By L S

Very clean, excellent service. I was a bit weary to book here because of its proximity to a road, but it's very quiet. The rooms are very clean and have a decent size. The spa is wonderful, although you have to pay extra for it. Unfortunately we couldn't use the gym because it was out of order.

Nice spot!

Reviewed By Si0bhan_C2013

Lovely little campsite, only 40 minutes walk from Santillana del Mar or a 5 minute drive. The walk feels a bit dodgy because it's on a main road. On the same road but in the other direction there are some bars and restaurants for dinner. Camp site was nice and clean and a good price (2 adults with a van was €25 for the night). The woman at reception was very nice and helpful. If you visit, make sure to check out the amazing bakery just up the road. Take a right when you come out of the campsite and it's less than 10 minutes walk on the other side of the road.

Poca limpieza

Reviewed By Gawl
