Porto-Galini Seaside Resort & Spa is a beautiful five star hotel located along the east coast of Lefkada island, 12 km from Lefkada town and 4 km from the popular village of Nydri, designed to offer maximum comfort, superb services and leisure opportunities to our guests. Reviewed By Chris LJust back from a week half board at the Porto Galini Spa and resort and wishing we were still there. We wanted a relaxing stay and that is exactly what we were given from start to finish. Greeted with cool towels to wash away the grime from travelling and then taken by 'golf Kart' to, our rooms with an explanation of where things were en route the staff here are of the highest caliber, friendly and helpful and always smiling. Our room was a basic one but to be honest it was larger and of a higher quality than most of the rooms where we have stayed in other hotels, a small terrace with table and chairs and a drying rack to the side of the entrance and all windows have shutters that can be closed at night to block any light. Entering there was a nice seating area with a TV and clothes storage and off of that through another small 'hallway' there was more storage with cupboards and wardrobes. Through this was a large bathroom with plenty of room, a walk in shower and a large sink and mirror. The bedroom was large and had a very comfortable bed with side tables and lights and another TV. We loved our room and could not fault it at all. The Asterias restaurant was large dining area which offered a huge range of food covering all food types and easily catering for Vegans/Vegetarians and of course being Greece meat eaters. It was spacious well lit and had great views out over the sea. Breakfast selection was vast with freshly squeezed orange juice a hot favourite for many as a beverage. You could easily have an excellent 3 -5 course meal here and each night was a different theme, Greek, International, Fish etc. That said there was plenty of variety again so they catered for all types of diets. The Dining Staff were diligent and attentive also very friendly and helpful. Meal times were spread over a long period so there was never a rush to eat and the plates of food were continuously refreshed (and hot where necessary)! Oh and there is the Segreto A La Carte Italian restaurant, not cheap but if you have the budget treat yourself to an amazing experience with food of a very high standard and 'special' desserts, we will leave that for you to discover as a surprise! The pool areas were very clean, spacious and well laid out with lots of seating. The hotel has it's own private beach with plenty of sunbeds all of which have there own shade. There was a life guard both in the pool areas and on the beach which is more of a small smooth gravel beach not sand and we would advise suitable swim footwear to both protect from the pebbles and the hot stones! One last great thing George and Mario are your waiters for the pool and beach area and you can either use an App or press a call buzzer to alert them or just go old fashioned and chat to them, they did an amazing job of keeping food and drinks flowing to all the guests all of the time. Nic the beach lifeguard is there to help also with the water sports equipment which although limited is free and fun, Canoes and Paddle boards, he is there all day apart from a short lunch break and was always happy, smiling, helpful and friendly. So are there any downsides to this little slice of Paradise? Yes, it is on a hillside and so from top to bottom is for anyone with mobility issues a problem, that said the hotel I'm sure could and did use the Golf Kart to ferry people up and down as there is a 'roadway' and some sloping paths to help, but beware there are still many steps to negotiate! A taxi to Nidri just 4 Kms down the road was 8 Euros and as there is no footpath this is by far the safest was to travel out and about. If you are used to driving abroad then hire a car, we do and Lefkada is a small island with plenty of places to visit. We also hired a boat from Nidri for the day at 60 euros plus used fuel. Transfer to the hotel from Prevesa Airport is around 40-60 mins.

Reviewed By 507chrisvI have recently returned from this great little hotel. The location is excellent, only a few minutes from the beach and taverners. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a decent size and had a nice big balcony. Everything was very clean, and the room was cleaned everyday. The pool was lovely and very relaxing. The breakfast was very nice, lots of fresh produce and decent coffee. I would definitely return.

The worst check in experience possible

The tiny reception area was closed, there was a note on the door with 2 phone numbers, one didn’t work, the other went through to a man with limited English who said he was not expecting any guests. Shortly after he walked up the drive, phoned someone who turned out to be Dimitra, she claimed to have no knowledge of our booking and said she had never heard of the very well known company we booked through. She said we could check in but we would have to pay for the room, even though we had already paid for the week in full. There followed a very stressful afternoon phoning the company we booked through to try to sort things out. We arranged to meet Dimitra at 7pm, she was still claiming to have no knowledge of our booking and asked us how we were going to pay. I questioned why she walked away when I tried to show her our booking confirmation, she said “because she already had it”! My husband went and looked on her laptop and sure enough there was our booking that confirmed that we had prepaid for the week’s hotel accommodation. He took a screenshot as evidence. Why she chose to withhold this information is still a mystery, and for the rest of the week no explanation or apology was ever offered. There were only 3 other guests the entire week yet they didn’t appear to want any guests staying there at all. According to our booking we had paid for daily housekeeping, however on arrival there was a note in our room saying “because of COVID” it would only be cleaned every 3 days. Even this didn’t happen, our room was cleaned once. Another day we had to both clean dead insects out of the pool because no one had bothered to clean it. The bedrooms are very dated, the mattresses extremely hard. All in all a very unpleasant stay, if we could have left earlier we would.

Reviewed By stelav2018First of all, the owners are quite impolite. We were a group and their organisation of the reservations was really bad. We had to change rooms, because the landlords didn’t block their rooms on Booking. Rooms - extremely loud, right next to the street. It felt like you are sleeping on the street. Rooms are very hot and owners do not allow to leave the air conditioner on during the day. Our vacation was ruined. DO NOT RECOMMEND! OVERALL BAD ATTITUDE!

Katsenos Studios is a family business only 90m from the beach of Nikiana and 500m from restaurants, bars, super markets and pharmacy stores. Katsenos Studios in their beautiful decorated rooms, provide you A/C, flat screen tvs and a safe deposit boxes. Their private bathrooms have douz cabinets and hair dryers also. The personel cleans the rooms every day.
