Good price/quality
Reviewed By Cinnamomum74We stayed in this hotel for business. The price was cheap and the quality of the stay quite nice. The room was big, clean and quiet, with new furniture. The bed was firm but comfortable and I had a good rest. The amenities are limited but enough. The breakfast buffet is simple but adjusted to the price we paid. There is a shopping mall with several Asian restaurants and a supermarket next to the hotel. Overall I recommend staying in this hotel.

Isolated luxury overlooking a picturesque lake
Reviewed By MattwalesNorthWalesThe first international brand to set up shop in this, the second city of Sichuan. Splendid in it's isolation, the hotel dominates one arm of the "Fairy Lake" reservoir. As the hotel is pretty much brand new, it conforms to the brand norm, airy spacious rooms, choice of restaurants (café, Chinese or western style, off season the buffet is only available on weekends), indoor pool, gym etc.. We chose a lake view which really is worth the extra and had a great stay. I do think it is worth a mention that you need to be prepared as town is 25km away. No shop! To walk the lake on food would be a massive challenge to most people, where a bicycle could be useful if they were for hire. Although we had a great stay, with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in China, the hotel could have tried a little harder. - No bicycles, no shop, smoking allowed in the café area .

Pleasant Hotel
Reviewed By Mare1208Recommended by the locals to stay here during a business trip. Although it is a little out of the way, the surroundings were lovely. It is next to a lovely park and very green all around. For westerners, the room was clean, had appropriate bathroom accomodations and menu selections and water bottles that were safe to drink. Took advantage of the foot massage- one hour for only $24 USD which was terrific. The reasons I did not give this hotel a higher rating were as follows: 1) as compared to Shanghai, limited staff spoke any English, 2) wifi was spotty and 3) translations may not always appear as they seem. Ordered for lunch, the chicken in the pepper sauce. It was definitely not chicken and learned later that it was probably pigeon. Unless there is a better hotel, I would go back if doing business in Mianyang.

The usual fake 4 star hotel
Reviewed By Cinnamomum74I had to stay in this hotel for business. It is the usual fake 4 star hotel that you can find frequently in China. Big room, with dark and outdated furniture, stained carpet, small bathroom where you can not move, bathtub with dirty curtains instead of glass wall... Everything is old and worn. Even the door of the room can not be opened easily. Breakfast pure Chinese style. They have a swimming pool, but tried to go twice and couldn't because it was really full with swimming courses for people outside the hotel. The staff does not speak English at all. Do not stay here if you can avoid it.

AC not so strong, so better in winter than in summer
Reviewed By CuriousSwedeI stayed here for a few times on business trips and it has been fully ok. My aircon has never really functioned with the expected power, but sleeping has been ok. To get wifi you need to collect a station from the reception or have one sent up to your room (which went fast when I asked). Lunch buffet is great and I have dined in one of the restaurants in the hotel which also was very good. (Against extra charge for my type of booking at least). Haven't tested the gym or swimming pool yet though. Location is good. Not too far from the train station. For Mianyang it is a really good hotel.
