Great hotel surrounded by nature
Reviewed By Andiesm6We spent five nights in the end of august. It's a very quiet time during august, so the hotel was half full. It was perfect. All the staff was amazingly kind, but i would like to highlight Mariana, who we saw mostly at breakfast, who was delightful and very nice. The breakfast was great, delicious and abundant! Strong coffee, yummy bread and extra delicious sweet pastries! The only bad part is that they serve you, and sometimes you have to wait for 1-2 people to get served before you, but i'm pretty sure this happens everywhere with buffets. Not a problem at all! The hotel and the rooms were very clean. It's very luminous and cozy. The water pressure was great too. And the mini fridge in the room was awesome! we would fit lots of things there and it kept bottles VERY cold! I would definitely come back during off season, when it's calm and peaceful!

Reviewed By PETES04The hotel is very conveniently located , walking distance from the Shopping Centre. It was good value for money with a Spring promotional rate, especially as we could opt for independence and not pay for breakfast as the apartment has a small kitchen to prepare something basic in the room. Best rooms have a balcony and overlook houses and gardens at the back, quieter than overlooking the street. However if there is availability, best to choose block 21 to be far away from neighbouring noisy bars which start playing loud and/or live music late as the weekend approaches. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and a nice touch in reception was the courtesy capsule coffee machine . Internet was fine and the covered parking well located next to reception. And importantly the bed was very comfortable. There is a small heated indoor swimming pool (which we did not use) and adjoining gym. Not much variety in international TV channels, at least for news.

The best hotel in Punta del Este
Reviewed By Fabian MThere is no other hotel in PE like L Auberge. This hotel has been the best since decades. What makes it special: the location (beautiful neighborhood surrounded by some of the best houses of PE), the service (top), the tasteful furnishings (not standard type), the food, the big park with pool, the service (legendary). Of course the review would not be complete without highlighting the tea with waffles (I would recommend the ones with dulce de leche), a PE tradition at L Auberge, a must go even if you do not stay at the hotel! The beach is nearby and to me this is one of the best beaches in PE. L Auberge is must see even if you do not stay there! At the very least go for teatime!

Rooms are bright and cheery, bar fully stocked, full-on breakfast buffet with hot breakfast items prepared to order. Staff couldn’t be nicer. Be prepared for about a $200 taxi to/from the Montevideo international airport. I suspect bus service might be available, but I did not explore that option.

Heart of the Peninsula
Reviewed By cb54321The location is superb for exploring Punta del Este. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go on the peninsula, including the famous La Mano. The bus station is a short walk away allowing us to catch a convenient bus to further beaches along the coast. The hotel is located in the heart of the shopping area with easy access to excellent shopping. Our overnight flight arrived early in the morning and the staff were graciously able to get us into a room early so we could rest a bit before exploring the city. The hotel is charming but the decor could use some updating. The wifi in the room is good. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of delicious foods to choose from. The rooftop deck is a lovely spot for enjoying the sunshine or taking in a view of the sunset. We appreciated the friendly hotel staff who made our stay enjoyable.

Awesome hotel in a South Atlantic beach mecca
Reviewed By csundsethI stayed in this hotel in June, beginning of winter. Occupancy was low, even the traffic lights on the main drag along the beach were turned off. This is a European style very nice hotel that even looks like a castle, with impressive turrets and expansive gardens; indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast is quite good - in winter it is late; 8am - 11am. You won't see eggs on the buffest, you must only ask for made to order eggs and omelettes. I assume many staff can speak English; I spoke Spanish so I never tested it. Bar service is expensive, the the larget shopping mall in town is just round the corner - a 5 min walk. It has a food court with about 14 restaurants. I found the service to be very good and the room and appointments were top drawer. Highly recommend it!

Reviewed By eduggrThe sofas have seen better days, just for starters. The so called “apartments” are a sad cubicle with no chairs, smelling like urine, painted by a drunk, you can hear all what is going on all night and the main view is someone’s bathroom. The garage is a rush hour game, and they let stray dogs sleep in front of reception. No concessions when you try to run away from thi hell hole though. You have been warned.
