Wonderful wine and biking
Reviewed By HughO982This is our second stay, as we enjoyed it so much last year, we decided to stay again. Great staff - we were made to feel like VIPs when we arrived and the waiters were friendly and attentive (well done Patrick!). We felt that the food had noticeably improved since last year, and indeed when we asked they said that they have changed the chef since last year. The food is really very tasty. Every course was great. Of course we must mention the wine, which is exceptional. A wide selection - you can’t fail to find something you like. We found a lot that we liked and will look forward to buying what are becoming our favourite wines. The biking is wonderful - tough on a regular bike. If you go on a regular bike (like we did last year), you can drive to nearby flatter areas and do well-marked routes. This year we took the ebike meaning we can go straight from the hotel. The views are stunning.

A great place to relax
Reviewed By murakami18We went for a weekend and it was just great. The place is wonderful and so is the family who host the place. The two brothers run the hotel and you just feel fine and relaxed. Spacious modern rooms, great atmosphere in the middle of the vineyards. We‘ll be back!

Reviewed By andreak0enigReal Nce rooms friendly owner and staff beautiful garden and pool. The breakfast ist excellent and variable. We had our bicycles with us and they were locked safley over night. The "Buschenschank" belonging to the house offered very good dishes and fine wine. In one word: we will come back.

Nice hotel, friendly service
Reviewed By IDea1Stayed there half business half privately with a few families. We had two organised dinner in the restaurant, which were really nice. The service was very friendly though it was not easy to deal with the different nationalities and the kids inbetween. Breakfast buffett was nice and even filter coffee was offered plus a wide range of regional well-tasting products. BIG PLUS! The family rooms were really nice and had all balconies with a nice view and a big bathroom. Big plus: There was a door between the kidsroom and the main room where the other double bed with the TV was. All in all very recommendable. Unfortunately we could not test the wellness area (unfortunately only sauna but no pool). The area as such is incredible nice for hiking and offers a lot of different routes.

Nice rooms, beautiful setting
Reviewed By Mausi8960We have been to Southern Styria a number of times and have had drinks on the Wein Walk. We decided to stay at Mahorko because a number of the hiking trails leave from there. We were very happy with our choice. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet had something for everyone. The Oberglanz is a solid, tasty wine.

Disappointing customer service
Reviewed By carikalahariWe had lunch there in May with friends and asked if they had any rooms available for next year as my husband and I have stayed there before. We were told to wait for assistance which took a while. Finally the owner came to see us but didn’t even greet us properly. We explained that we were interested to stay and he vaguely told us that he didn’t take bookings so long in advance. We then asked if he can just look if there is anything available, whereupon he answered they don’t take groups. He then made it very clear that he just isn’t interested in our business. He was very unfriendly and very unprofessional. He clearly lacked in customer service. He finally showed us around but we could see we really irritated him and he just wanted to get rid of us. We love Styria and travel there every year and the people in general are fantastic hosts but this really upset us and we don’t recommend enquiring about lodging. Restaurant is great though and the wine is good.

Reviewed By David PJust imagine a trip by car of flying to Austria and you come across this family wine farmer, solely run by the Narat family, all apartments are exquisite, just browse their photos, and yes it's better than that, the family speak perfect English and treat you like family the wine is amazing, just treat yourself if you can get a booking, you will not be dissappointed. Cannot wait to arrive this year on 6th May for eight days See you there sometime ???

Family run wineyard with nice rooms and excellent wines
Reviewed By KeokiGermanyWe have stayed with the Rothschädl family many times already although we usually do not stay overnight. They have a selection of very nice wines for you to try and take home, some of them are medal winners at Austria Wine Challenge. The owners are very friendly and light meals are served but it's not a restaurant. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Definately worth visiting and reasonably priced.
