Everything is perfect!! The staff is charming, the room very comfortable in a very warm style, the "8 surprises" meal is extraordinary and the Chef even came to greet us in person. A memorable evening for sure! We will be back next winter for longer stay.

Spring time in the Alps at this little gem of a place

Reviewed By leannet263

Came for the Easter weekend, most places in our budget range were fullty booked. So this hostel popped up but I had my reservations being an older couple who have had our fair share of hostels. Anyway...we booked, we liked it and we highly recommend it. Cosy bar / restaurant with nice views, mixture of different types of people. Nice but basic rooms (it's a hostel). Friendly staff with a chilled singer some nights. Good cleaning standards. My only complaint would be the shower. It was basically a shower head and no holder. Great if you like in sat down showers.

Wonderful hotel and lovely staff

We stayed for a week as a family of 5 and as party of a larger group of 15. After an eventful journey to the resort, the staff could not have been more helpful to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable for the rest of the week. From the front of house, reception, food and beverage to housekeeping, all the team at Altapura were attentive and the service provided was very good . Rooms and food were great. We stayed half board. The hotel's location being right on the slopes and close to the ski schools couldn't have me our holiday more convenient.

Everything was easy and nothing was complicated

We absolutely loved the place. We arrived in the middle of the night due to a cancelled/delayed flight, but it was no problem at all. Very clear and pleasant communication with Sébastien. The location of the hotel is great. Just next to the ski rental shops, in the centre of the village. The slopes are very close as well. It was great to be able to park the car in the parking garage just at the other side of the street. (This is very rare for Val Thorens). Don’t forget to make a reservation though. The spa was lovely. A jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna, a shower, relaxing sofas and possibility to cool down outside. Free towels and very comfy bath robes. The view from the restaurant and rooms is very nice, and the food in the restaurant from chef Sebastiaan was fantastic. The service was excellent. Very nice breakfast too ! If there is anything “less positive” to say about this hotel, the only thing I can think of is that there is no elevator, only stairs. So I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to people that have serious troubles with their mobility. For us, the stairs were no problem at all. Maybe even a plus because elevators usually make quite some noise. This hotel is nice and quiet. Last but definitely not least: the personnel was very very friendly and they helped us out with any type of question or demand. We definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely come back here in the future. A huge thank you to Sébastien, Delphine and all other personnel. Enjoy your well deserved inter-seasonal break !

In 20 years of skiing, this has been our most disappointing holiday.

Reviewed By Passport486836

The locker room was awful! Only a locker door width space to walk down, so if someone opened their locker door nobody could get passed! No love or attention went into the food and was of less quality than a motorway service station! On occasions we would stand for 15 minutes + for some food to come out (e.g. burger) only for 4 to come out! These would then be reheated again for the next two days! Wine was from a dispenser! We were in France for goodness sake! The one Savoyard speciality meal comprised of ‘Antonio’ standing behind one of the tables melting some cheese! Not the normal Savoyard experience we have come to love! The staff were not accommodating and we were made to feel like the smallest request was an inconvenience. In fact, by the end of the holiday it did feel like we were encroaching on THEIR holiday, as they would congregate on the terrace drinking in the late afternoon. The bar would be closed at different times on different days, from 10:30 to 9:00 on one night, only to be ‘opened’ up again for the staff 5 minutes later! Husband asked about breakfast before our early start the next day, the receptionist assured us they were used to this and to knock and they would sort something out for us. We were greeted by a young woman who asked us rather aggressively what we were doing in the restaurant! We explained, with no apology, she stormed off! Having missed two years of skiing because of Covid, we were really looking forward to this holiday. Very disappointed!

Brilliant stay - more than expected for the price paid

Reviewed By Z4638WWnickyd

Having read some poor reviews I was concerned, but I had absolutely no reason to be. The hotel delivered much more than expected. The staff we encountered were all helpful, the bar staff are brilliant. Top tip - upgrade to the all inclusive drinks package when you arrive. €109 per person for the week for a large range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks all inclusive. The food was as to be expected, I’m fussy but managed to find something tasty every day. The selection at the salad bar & the meats and cheeses included were a nice surprise. The evening entertainment was exactly that - entertaining. We enjoyed the shows and the atmosphere around the hotel. The rooms were bigger than others I’ve stayed in in Val Thorens and the location of the hotel couldn’t be better. Ski out, with 2 choices of runs down and the lift drops you off about 10steps from the entrance to the ski locker room. Wouldn’t hesitate to book Club Mmv les arolles for our next trip to Val Thorens. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Lodji Hotel

The Lodji offers 47 rooms, 10 of which have a private outdoor spa. An infinity pool with mountain views, as well as a sauna, a hammam and a fitness room. A restaurant and bar with a typically Belgian festive, warm and relaxed atmosphere. A ski room with secure private lockers with boot dryers. Finally 700m² of heated terraces facing south-west and enjoying a breathtaking view.

Beautiful hotel but don’t expect to be looked after well. Unless your a guest of the owner!!

Reviewed By EKHep2013

We stayed in an apartment as a family. It was clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. However you have to go outside and back up to the hotel to access the spa so bring flip flops. Unfortunately the week we stayed, there was a private party in the rest of the hotel which we only found out about on arrival at the hotel. These guests partied late into the night on the outside balcony with loud music which we and the neighbouring properties all had to put up with! The guests took over the pool and hot tubs without ever considering others leaving they’d many bottles and glasses of drinks behind and in the hot tub. Staff didn’t help or even see the issue. We were also asked to leave the pool area, having just arrived, as they wanted to film it. No prior notice was given. The last evening they closed the pool and hot tubs again with no information given to us whatsoever. Very poor service indeed! We were inconvenienced on numerous occasions and had no apology. Nobody cared. You also pay an exorbitant fee for cleaning the apartment at the end. It’s such a shame as their website promises a wonderful hotel and experience but this us not true to how they run at the moment!! Hopefully they will improve their management so that every guest is able to enjoy the hotel fairly and equally rather than just their own friends. They are missing key staff and communication, which is a shame as the hotel itself is stunning. The food was delicious on the one lunch we could enjoy-they decided to only cater for the private party for the entire week so we couldn’t order from the menu. Again no prior warning was given prior to our arrival! The location is perfect luckily for them!
