Reviewed By Pavane1946Small, cozy hotel with friendly and helpful front staff. Rooms are extremely clean, worth high comfortable bed. Shower was in our room (first floor) but that really isn’t a problem. Rain shower head was just lovely. Room includes a refrigerator and coffee maker, internet works well. Restaurant area was closed (Covid) but a lovely custom cooked full breakfast was delivered to the room. Only caveat is that the bed really is extremely high, so not good if mobility challenged. There are rooms on the first floor but no elevator for rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor.

Great Location + Friendly Staff!
Reviewed By ECContessaWe stayed at the Silverbow Inn in May 2022! It was such a perfect location to so many of Juneau's most popular sites, and the hotel itself was clean and welcoming. The staff was beyond helpful, and told us all of the local trips for experiencing Juneau in the best way (waterfall hikes, restaurants, bakeries, and tours)! We loved the healthy breakfast options which also made for great snacks. The food and drink in the kitchen are available 24-hours a day including fresh coffee, candy, popcorn, cheese, hot chocolate with whipped cream, tea, bread, and freshly baked cookies! The code to the front door and our room made us feel extra safe. We also enjoyed the view of the cruise ship harbor from the third floor rooftop terrace, and even saw a few Eagles fly overhead in the mornings. Would 10/10 recommend a stay here!

Maintenace and Staff Service issues

The hotel is conveniently located for the airport and AMH ferry port but they wouldn't organize a pick up until the very last minute (ie we had to have actually docked before they would send out the shuttle, even though it is a 10 min drive from the hotel). The rooms were ok in size but dark and there were maintenance issues on both our stays - first time, toilet water kept on running after flushing, 2nd time we were missing a bedside lamp and towel hooks on the bathroom door). Front desk staff didn't even smile, and one of the shuttle drivers (Danny) didn't even bother to say "hello." "Breakfast" was just coffee plus some biscuits, and not kept replenished. However, there is a MacDonald's right next door. We'd booked through bookings.com but they added an extra "tax." Not a huge amount but still, irritating, as the confirmation had said the figure is all we would be paying. Only stay if you have an early flight out.

clean friend - with shuttle!
Reviewed By F4096SQjohnlEverything was spotless and the whole crew was very competent, attentive and friendly. One big positive factor for us was the free shuttle to and from the Alaska Ferry. We were even picked up at 5:00 a.m.! When the big crew ships come in, it is very difficult to get transportation. Also, the hotel is conveniently located away from the cruise ship terminals, but close enough to walk anywhere in downtown Juneau. Our two night stay was great.

Reviewed By 907opinionI’ve been staying here on most of my trips during the pandemic. I really appreciate how understanding and accommodating the staff are. My most recent trip, the ferry I left Juneau was on had turned around due to weather. With that going on, I had booked a room online once we had good enough cell reception. We later found out that the ferry was going to unload some vehicles and leave Juneau again. I had called the hotel and the front desk staff were very understanding about the whole situation and assured me that I would be able to cancel my room without being charged if the ferry was able to make it out again. Thank you to the two ladies who answered my calls when I was on the ferry!

Baranof Hotel during Covid
Reviewed By Mary SI was supposed to stay in the hotel for one night but learned I had Covid, so I isolated at the Baranof for five nights. The staff brought me meals (for a charge), replaced towels as needed and were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and I could open the window (which is becoming more and more unusual for hotels). I appreciated the staff's concern about covid; this protected me, staff, and other travelers staying and/or dining in the hotel.

Rundown and diappointing
Reviewed By lyndal794The reviews rated this motel very good. Our room was far from that! It looked nothing like the pictures. Our room had a double and single bed with a tiny tv. It was very run down. Trying to find an outlet to plug in my phone, the one I found close to the bed had no plate on it, exposed wires. No AC, no screens in the windows. The back window had just white pulldown blinds that did nothing to keep out the light at 5 am sunrise. The carpet was dirty. The room rundown AND we found a pile of dirty clothing under the bed! You would have to pay me alot of money to stay there again!

No shuttle option for downtown, and the rooms were dated and less than clean. Nice to have a kitchen but literally one fork and no salt or pepper and no Followup when called to ask for some? Restaurant hours were limited enough that wasn’t helpful either. Would look for somewhere else if return.

Super upkeep and clean
Reviewed By rcon49It’s difficult to make an older facility look new; but when effort is put in on the upkeep and to keep it as clean as it was, I feel management and staff should be commended. In addition all the staff I encountered were very pleasant.
