Two days in Copenhagen
Reviewed By JDavid KAt the end of a transatlantic cruse ship crossing, we stayed two extra days on Copenhagen, Denmark. This was a great decision. We stayed at the Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport. The airport furnishes free baggage trolleys. The hotel can be reached without going outside and has elevators wherever you need them to reach the hotel. We used the trolley to reach the room and to return two days later for the plane. One Denmark Kroner. It is about 15 cents. We used the Metro. One can get to the metro -- all inside from the hotel - by going through Terminal 3. Ticket are available inside the terminal and can be purchased using a credit card. Sing trip as well ad one day, two day and three day passes available for four zones. People in Denmark speak English fluently. They switch from Danish to English instantly. They start early in their schools. The people are great. Food is expensive. Plan your nourishment. Take water with you. Get a guide book like Rick Stevens, a Copenhagen map and a map of the metro if you are going to use it. If you are stuck just ask some one. Copenhagen has a long pedestrian walk way through parts of the City . Tivoli Gardens (entrance fee) has gardens, entertainment, and an interesting area of ridfes. Small children through the daring. Don't forget the Danish Pastries!

Zero flexibility and lousy customer service
Reviewed By Julie-PreislerThis is our second stay at Marienlyst. We had a fantastic first stay although the service in the main restaurant was below mediocre. Now with our second stay, we got absolutely zero flexibility from the booking desk or the front desk… I had asked to access the spa early on the arrival day as our dinner could only take place at 6 pm and with a five course meal, I couldn’t see us making time for the spa too (we had spa access included from 7-11 pm and again the following day from 7 am to 14 pm). Since we had to leave early the next morning, we would not be able to use the spa that day either. They told me that I could pay an additional DKK 700/couple to access the spa earlier. No changes were possible. Just to add here, an early spa access at Skodsborg Kurhotel is less than half of the what Marienlyst charge. I spoke to several of the staff members there and got the same answer. Nothing they could do to help out! With the prices they charge for a spa and gourmet stay, I can’t believe the lack of service and flexibility can exist in such a place. What a shame that an otherwise great hotel, fail so hard on the customer experience end.

Reviewed By emilymK5122LTStandard double room. Nice and clean. Train station just round the corner. Only downside would be that there’s no tea and coffee in the room you have to pay for this in the lobby. Room was quite small but perfect for a couple.

Reviewed By 372frederiksGreat spa with many different options, as well as outdoor spa and sauna. Dinner was amazing and the service was the same. Rooms were comfy and updated with great beds and new furniture. Staff was kind and helpful. Location is beautiful - the hotel has its own park.

There are much better places with much better prices
Reviewed By Tom BThis hotel is extremely average. We chose to stay here as it was a good price, for Copenhagen and looked OK on Trip Advisor. The location, although close to the airport seemed ok as there were good metro connections into the city. The décor in the rooms is old, the staff are nothing special and there are certainly nothing to write home about. The room itself was dank and quite depressing, comprising of plain white walls with boring furniture and stains on the carpet which looked terrible. As for comfort, the mattresses were tiny, like camping mattresses and the bathroom was a "wet room" with no shower cubicle. For one night before a flight this place would be OK, as it is close to the airport but for a 3 night stay, I'd go elsewhere next time. If you're visiting Copenhagen for a few days, I wouldn't recommend, despite the fact it's close to the metro station and the metro is only a very short 15 minute ride into Copenhagen Centre. There are supermarkets and takeaway vendors located right next to it. There is also a pleasant café too.

Great hotel and spa

Great things: - The Spa is absolutely excellent. Very, very nice, modern and well maintained spa. Not that many activities, but that suited us well - Breakfast was really good. - Reception and bar service absolutely top notch. Minor improvement areas: - The rooms are still OK, but could potentially need an update within a reasonable time frame. - At one occasion, then the restaurant appeared to be overbooked for dinner. Most orders were incorrectly served with other choices than selected. In happened at most tables around us and appeared to us that everything was a bit chaotic. It was both for drinks, food and wine and it basically seemed like there were too many people.

Very bad experience
Reviewed By momo2023060an accident happened in Copenhagen Hotel. Just travelling to Denmark for weekend and this is what happened. I was staying in this Hotel and I end up with 4 stitches in the(( Bispebjerg Hospital )) Unfortunately the Receptionist was not helpful at all and very rude He doesn't care at all, I slippedI and hit my face on the edge of the bathtub .

Reviewed By traxi74The bed are really bad. For the price they ask I expect a bed that has some quality. Whatcyou receive seemsxto be not even 90cm and cheapest Ikea quality. Not good enough ? Breakfast was good but you had to go over the street in cold weather. At least they have free parking.

Reviewed By MsMMTRooms have passed 'best-before-date', they really need a good face-lift. Hotel is located pretty remote, so stock up with everything that you might need. I thought it would be possible to have a light meal or pick something for a bar-menu. I was wrong! It was either the restaurant or a bag of crisp that was available. Not OK! Unluckily, I had forgotten my hairbrush and when I asked for a brush or comb at the reception desk it wasn't possible at all. However, the breakfast was good.
