Nice large bedrooms in family house in the center of Boulogne sur mer. Located in the city center and really close to the old town, you are perfectly located to visit Nausicaa and the Cote d'Opale. You will enjoy the outside of the house with a large garden. 4 rooms are equipped with spa-bath, and you can have a rest in our outside jaccuzzi (35°C). During spring and summer, a free shuttle is available on place Dalton (100 meters from our building) to go to Nausicaa.
Good B&B - Quite expensive
Reviewed By SatangaiThis is a good choice as a B&B, with expert hosts. The position is very good, in the Middle between the old city and the promenade. Car parking is possible nearby as a paid service. The rooms are quite old style while the bathroom has been updated. The cost is even higher than in a ****hotel, which should not be the case.

Reviewed By ChrisMutlowWe stayed for 4 nights for a long weekend in and about Boulogne-sur-Mer with our 4 year old daughter. Great location for Nausicaa and for the rest of Boulogne. Simple but comfortable apartments, warm, clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful when our daughter was feeling unwell. Free parking was also a bonus.

The hotel shares an underground carpark with an adjacent shopping mall, to which end there is a 'secret door' from the mall into the hotel. Back at the start of March CoVid restrictions were still in place in France, the requirement for proof of vaccination, so these were required at check in. We were directed to our room, via the elevator. The room whilst 'bijou' had all the amenities within easy reach and best of all a river view. The bed was comfortable and the shower was plentiful and hot. Where this hotel excelled was it's location, within easy walk of the harbour, fish market, marine centre and the town centre, cafes and restaurants. I'm reminded of a top tip!! Buy your wine, cheese, pate etc on the Saturday - The shops are closed on Sunday, even in Cite d'Europe!!

Very nice, tidy and with great service
Reviewed By Michel BMy wife and I spent a really nice evening together at La Matelote. Despite the Covid restrictions, the personnel has been very friendly and accommodating. We had a really nice dinner in the room, with a nice view over the sea and the aquarium (unfortunately closed!). Many thanks to the hotel staff was my accomplice in surprising my wife. The hotel is very clean and you can tell the cleaning is very thorough. I give a great importance to details and the hotel staff passed my stringent requirements !

Unsafe district!
Reviewed By KathrynK200We were warmly greeted by the male hotel receptionist who was helpful advising on local restaurants and the room was clean. However unfortunately that’s where the positives end. We had a family room with many broken / non working items. Carpets throughout are threadbare. The worst was the noise from the unsavoury area where police were called. We observed cars being damaged outside the hotel. Not an advisable hotel to stay in.

Reviewed By Vincent MWe used this Hotel as an overnight stop on the way to Tunnel. Easy to reach but beware the entrance to the car park is very narrow. Great location for the old town. Staff were very efficient and helpful and didn't mind speaking English.

Reviewed By Stephen EThe hotel advertises the 24 hour reception desk when we arrived we had to call a number written on the door of the hotel which isn’t the same as the number advertised online for somebody to come out and open the hotel up for us When we walked into the reception area the whole place smell very musty and it also smelled of cigarettes. The hotel obviously wasn’t ready for our check-in as they had to search for towels for our rooms which again smelled very musty and upon inspection of the bedroom I wasn’t sure if the sheets had been laundered recently or not The place is an absolute tip Although at €50 per room per night It is reasonable value but I’d rather pay more and not be worried that my room might been ransacked whilst I am out Do not come here
