We had a great stay at ruver view lodge! The owners and staff are fantastic and really do their best making you feel welcome (eg arranging our pcr tests, changing money for us, giving advice, etc). The premisis is clean; the rooms are nice and big. Food is good. The river cruise is a must! We would stay here again next time when we are near Kasane

Quality not in line with price

We spent two night in the chine safari lodge - safari room, river view . The view is beautiful and there are improvements ongoing on the bulging infrastructure , that is good. Anyway, me an my girlfriend were unlucky . The first night we did not sleep due to wired rumore on the countertop (a potential lock animals, could happens). Indeed, rooms are not clean as they should be, see pictures below at the entrance . Not suggested; not needed to pay this lodge prices. For the same standard and quality you can definitely choose places with lower prices.

Great service especially from Thato and a great stay

Reviewed By 45nishk

I stayed at the hotel for a few weeks whilst on business. I found the level of service to be really high - the receptionists, waiters, housekeepers - everyone was really attentive, friendly and happy to help however they could. I found one of the waiting staff, Thato to be especially great! She was always on hand to help me with questions I had about Botswana, things to do in Gaborone and which food to try. She was always very personable and made my stay much better!

LOVELY!

Reviewed By U2374SHteresag

i have stayed at the TRL four or five times. I have travelled to Botswana 5 times in the past 10 years. I have read the "bad" review on the TRL which was posted by a visitor who was there in October 2021. I was there in September 2021. We stayed 2 nights. The TRL has always been lovely when I've been there. The rooms (the "babblers') have always been clean, well laid out, and fresh. The food has always been good. I have never encountered a rude or uncaring staff member. The reception that I have received every time I have stayed at the TRL has been welcoming, polite and helpful. I have always had help taking my luggage to my room (I have never had to ask... it is simply done as a matter of course.) The pool is not large, but it has always been clean. If I have ever needed something, the staff has been quick to respond and provide. The negative review I read prompted me to write this review. Frankly, when I read that review I wondered if we were talking about the same lodge. I love the TRL and it has been and likely always will be my first choice for accommodation in Maun.
