Wonderful Kilmurvey House

Arrived on 24th May with my sister for 2 nights. We received a lovely friendly welcome from Treasa. We had a big twin room with great view of Dun Angus. Bertie drove us down to Wattys for a lovely meal and collected us when we were finished.

A Return Visit

Stayed here some years ago and were happy to return. The Guest House is in a great spot - literally the first place when you get off the ferry. Our room wasn't ready but we were able to wait in the Lounge which was good because the weather that day was bad, to say the least!! The room was fine, comfortable and warm (thanks so much for putting on the heating - we could get our damp gear dried!). The decor is, it's true, a little jaded now and could probably do with a revamp but the staff are very pleasant and the owner is a really nice gentleman with whom we had a lovely chat at breakfast one morning. They do not appear to be doing evening meals at the moment - perhaps of Covid restrictions - which is a shame because the food here is good.

Extremely disappointed in this over priced acommodation. It was located a good distance from Kilronan with a €25 return fare for 2 to get back to Kilronan. There was no warm breakfast, which was shocking considering the price. The lodge itself was full and it felt like we were staying in the neighbours house next door. Asked the owners for a lift, and they said no, whereas we met some other locals during our stay who generously offered us lifts. The water to shower was ice cold. Appalling service and shockingly overpriced.

We are a B & B located in the centre of Kilronan. We are a 10 minute walk from the harbour and we're a stone throw away from Joe Wattys Bar & Restaurant. All of our rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee facilities and televisions. The rate is €30 - €35 per person per night sharing and €45-€70 per night single rate.

Cute guesthouse

We were greeted by Porter the resident pooch as we walked up the drive. The ensuite room was very comfy with two double beds. The bath was large and the shower had great water pressure! Our host Bartley was very nice and told us all about the guesthouse and a bit about the surrounding area as well. We only stayed the one night, but it was lovely and very close to Joe Watty’s restaurant/bar which was handy!

Beautiful accommodations with lovely host!

We stayed in a comfortable downstairs bedroom with en suite bath, two twin beds, and a large window with sea view. Breakfast was hearty and to order, and packed lunch is available if you'd like to go exploring. The host is helpful and accommodating. They take Covid preparations very seriously there and wear masks in common areas. Take Noel Mahon's Hop On Hop Off tour from the ferry pier--he'll take you to Ard Einne and can take you into town for dinner. It's walkable, but after exploring the island all day you might appreciate a ride! We took his tour first, saw the island's highlights and had lunch before checking in. That worked great!

Highlight of my trip was the breakfast I had at Ard Mhuiris

Reviewed By BlueHobo

The hosts Cait and Martin were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Myself and my brother Michael stayed on the Island during Ted Fest (Father Ted festival) and one of the highlights for me was this BnB. The breakfast was amazing (we had a fry up on two mornings and scrambled eggs on toast the third). We named our own time for breakfast which allowed us sleep off some of our hangover... We thought the kettle was broken in our room and Cait and Martin iimmediately went about trying to make it right. It turned out the kettle wasn't even broken... On our final morning, Martin even offered to drop us back to the port so we could get our boat home. 10/10 - would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Cait and Martin
