In Quinta Cachama Negra we have 2 comfortable double rooms, with double beds. We also have 1 cabana (which is a 4-person room), and a house for 6 to 8 persons. All do have both air-conditioning and ceiling fans, TV, private bathroom with hot water. We have private parking space. We are close to the beach, a 15 minute stroll... The bus terminal is only two blocks away.
We spent three nights in Cachama Negra the week befor Semana Santa (Holy Week) and cannot recommend it enough. For us, it was perfect; quiet, clean, comfortable and only 10 minutes from Playa Grande and the Malecon. Andre, the owner and the host, was very knowledgeable about the area and helped us on several occasions with questions about dining, sightseeing, and so on. His advice was always right on the money. Other posadas in the area have more amenities, such as swimming pools, but really ... what's the point of paying for that when you have the Caribbean and Playa Grande right at hand? If we find ourselves in Choroni again, we will definitely plan another visit. In the meantime, we have recommended it to all our family and friends in both Caracas and Toronto.

The Hostal Colonial has new owners. We were trying to combine the convenience of the old Hostal Colonial with a lot of comfort. We believe we were successful!! Some of the 16 rooms, the apartments and the house for 10 persons are now equipped with air condition. In the new lounge we installed Cable TV and a computer for our guests. We transformed the parking lot rinto a garden. The biggest change is certainly the lovingly designed swimming pool with small waterfall. The Posada is equipped with wifi, generator and parking lot. The guests of all our Posadas can use our restaurant for breakfast at an affordable price The "Tourist Information" which is headed by Claudia, is now in Hostal Nova Colonial
This is a good place to stay for adults and kids, they are very helpfull and friendly, the hostal has a nice garden with different trees, enough place to play and relax and a little pool wich is situated well.

Posada Pittier it a family business, founded in 1993, It has nine rooms with private toilette, television with direct tv, free wifi service, security 24 hours, parking, air conditioner, fans, hot water, and a beautiful garden with pool and Jacuzzi. Posada Pittier has the magic of Choroni. Very close to the malecón and the Playa Grande, Beach. Enjoy and relax the Choroni in the best place, Posada Pittier.
I stayed at Posada Pittier three nights. Very clean and peaceful place.Personnel was very kind and helpful. It is a pitty that they do not serve any food during week days.Loved the parrots singing in the morning and the river sounds.Regarding the town, you need to know that Choroní is a fisherman village that used to be a Spanish settlement so it has a colonial architechture that they want to keep. So, forget about luxurious five star chains and brand shopping. You go there if you want to be in touch with nature, want to learn about a different culture and enjoy ecotourism. I really loved the village, itwas a pleasant experience.

Our Stay in Chichiriviche was a true nightmare, from escaping from being mugged at Cayo Varadero by 3 thugs with firearms, 4 shots fired at us to dealing with a helpless and rude crew at Hotel Caribana. We were forced to pay for another night despite having checked out in the morning. No sense of quality service or respect for the customer. The concierge even had the nerve to demand money up front to give us the key to the room eventhough our luggage was still under their care. Other fails like total absence of soap, tap water or electricity dwindle when compared to the utter negligence of the front desk people. At least the ones we had to deal with. But the true life saving advise is: DO NOT TRAVEL TO VENEZUELA, YOU MAY END UP DEAD!

Always go there to kite chill drink and eat.. The best kite spot in Adicora No doubt about it. This month stayed 3 night at one of their rooms... A couple of friend came from Caracas and we reserved two rooms.... Room are incredibly comfortable. A/C works perfect. Beds super confy, so if you want to sleep late they're great 'though not recommended 'cause you'll miss the delicious breakfast.. All the staff that works there are super friendly and they treat you like family. They have kite, surf and paddle School.. A surf shop with everything that you need for kiting or surfing... Overall, is the best place to stayed... You never want to leave this place...

I highly recommend NOT STAYING at this hostel. The owners stole money from my wallet while I was shopping outside. Furthermore, they claimed to help me convert my dollars into local currency but they literally cheated me. I’ve been travelling all around the world in many hostels but this is the first time I meet such dishonest and malicious people.

5 years travelling, later living and working in South America but Amor Patrio remains the backpacker hostel against which all others are judged. The word legendary is banded about to such a degree that's it's become almost meaningless but Gert Altmann is truly a legend. The most respected jungle guide in the whole of the Amazon; this is the guy who facilitated Ray Mears BBC televised documentary about the Sanema tribe in World of Survival season 2. In total over a period of 15 years I've spent about 3 months lodging at Posada Amor Patrio and I can honestly say that many of my happiest memories were at Patrio Amor. Yeah it's basic, but it's old school, it's like backpacking around Sourh America used to be and its where all the coolest people by a process of osmosis just seem to end up. Also Its probably your best bet for a hassle free, "I got what I paid for" tour to Angel Falls.
