My friend and me stayed at the hostel for one week and i can not say any negative things about it! It was truly amazing. The location is perfect, Leo (Manager) and all the staff do their work just great and are super friendly. Kitchen, rooms, shared areas… everything was perfectly clean and there is no way you will feel constricted. We enjoyed it so much and can truly recommend it!

Didn’t realize it was a hostel! Not a fan

Amazing place if you don’t plan to sleep lol! Booked a private room for 4 for our family and I didn’t like it whatsoever : no privacy as it was on thé way across from the communal kitchen and absolutely NOT quiet with people yapping super early am up to late night in that open kitchen. This explains why they gave us so many earplugs smh! Then thé bar played loud music with deep bass until past 11pm. There were 4 bunk beds -that looked like concentration camp ones- and a full bed. Anyhow it’s great for single young travelers that travel alone and can sleep for cheap in any condition. That’s not me lol!

Playa 506 Beachfront Hostel

From the moment you enter our mini oasis, you will be immersed in exquisite nature. Paths wind in and out through lush jungle flora where dorms and rooms nestle in privacy. Best of all is the ever-present sound of the surf. The beach lies directly in front of our place and it is breathtaking. Our outdoor restaurant is casual and fun while offering a variety of elegant cuisine and the best collection of craft beers on the entire coast. It extends to tables under the palms and sand dancing under the stars. Playa 506 is one of the most spectacular values on the this side of the coast. Located in the serene little village of Cocles, it is only 2km walk or bike ride into the lively town of Puerto Viejo. We entertain a unique concept: backpackers boutique hotel. Our credo is this: We believe that true value is not necessarily one size fits all. Everyone should have the opportunity to create his or her unique experience from basic backpacker to 5-star amenities. Pura Vida at its finest!

Beware it is a scam! Worst holidays we ever. Totally neglected property, overpriced and dirty

Reviewed By 555fufut

We booked 1 week for 3 person and paid all inclusive $770. Upon arrival we were shocked. The place is completely neglected. None of the free activities like Yoga, painting, etc were available, everything else was super expensive and a scam. The food was actually the worst we had aver seen (see pictures) and super little. Gabage and neglected construction material all over the place. Buildings and sport areas are in complete disrepair. Mosquito nets had the big holes. Internet was super slow and is just available at the bar. No electricity at night. The manager started drinking beer at 9 am and that's how the entire place is managed. Outrageous. We left after 3 days and are still waiting for the promised refund.

Beautiful lodge and good starting point to discover Bocas del Toro

Reviewed By LukasBMUC

The lodge itself is quite beautiful, has a good location and is very clean. It is not on the main island but very easy to reach by water taxi (~10 USD for a single passenger, ~5 USD p.p. for 2+ passengers). You can do canoeing and a few trips directly from the hostel, for more day trips you need to go to the main island first or just organize a round trip by yourself. You cannot cook yourself on the island but the food is good, with reasonable prices. Every evening the staff is organizing some social games and you can sign up for yoga sessions in the morning. Don't miss: In the bay, just in front of the hotel you can see bioluminescence plankton every night, which is really beautiful. You can see it best if the lights are turned off for a short while and then quickly light with a flashlight into the water. Big thanks to the staff of Bambuda Lodge, it was a pleasure to stay with you!

a wonderful service both the Hostel and the travel agency. They have a travel agency and their service is super comfortable. They always pick you up on time. I made the mistake of arriving 10 minutes after the pick-up time . those from the Yellow House (Brenda) and those from the Hotel Casa Sofía (Estu) delayed that the driver Chepin (Alfredo Jiménez), would like to leave me and the French traveler so if they tell you at 12:30, be punctual (10 minutes before, as Chepin emphasized) . I am also sure that he could have avoided the scolding as if we were small children and also that he will repeatedly remind us of the insufficient 400 dollars a month he receives in salary). again yellow house (Brenda) thank you for interceding so that they will wait for us and always ensure our safety and comfort. the breakfast buffet is delicious and super mega sincerely recommended in all of guatemala in the 3 weeks i spent in the country i did not find any buffet so deliciously prepared and with so much love. so well the cleanliness of the facilities is unbeatable. I am delighted. its services and atmosphere is ideal for solo travelers and those who enjoy connecting with locals. If you stay here you won't regret it at all.

Really bad experience at Selina’s new years eve event: Two different bouncers at the event’s entrance wouldn’t let us in after their front desk office sold us 5 tickets (total of $500+) because of their own miscommunication regarding the right color of their access bracelets. Most people were wearing yellow bracelets, but they sold us green ones and it caused confusion amongst their staff members. The event itself was alright, but managers and staff involved in organizing it definitely get a 1/5 for this. Fix your customer service. Selina is a window to Panama’s tourism industry and visitors deserve better from your company for the high prices paid. I’d recommend other nearby lodges to future travelers instead.
