Brisbane City YHA offers guests state of the art facilities and an Australian experience under one roof! Centrally located and close to all the tourist hot spots, this hostel offers roof top swimming pool with views of the city and Brisbane River, games room with Nintendo Wii, free Wifi Hot Spot (Wifi Plus also available), indoor and outdoor dining, secure parking and nightly entertainment. We also have a fantastic tour desk where you can book only the best activities and tours and not even leave the hostel! We are only 5 minutes walk from Suncorp Stadium for all of the major sporting events. The hostel has a mix of multishare, private twin/double rooms and family rooms all available with en-suites. Vingcard security access is throughout the hostel and the facilities are the newest and cleanest available. Brisbane City YHA is quite simply the best budget accommodation in Brisbane no matter what your reason for travel.

Reviewed By attybtQuite disappointed. The bar was closed, even though it should be open. NO cutlery, cups, glasses or plates available in the kitchen. Guests have to pay a deposit for all these stuff. It’s the first hostel that I have seen this, so annoying. I have been in other YHAs and for sure this is the worst. Slow Wifi in the room, expensive.

Nomads Brisbane has everything a backpacker could want, with our five floors offering a wide variety of rooms to appeal to everyone from the newly-arrived to the newly-wed, including dormitory and private rooms. All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! Reviewed By MadangmumI am an older woman who stayed on a Tuesday night to attend a course the next day. Perfect location took the train from domestic airport directly to Central railway, walked diagonally across the road to the heritage listed building. Staff were extremely friendly and polite. The lift was older so the two doors one wood, one metal, needed to be held to move luggage in or out. Totally manageable. Room was single with shared facilities. It was a very cold night so was happy I had my beanie and coat to add to the light doona for warmth. After 10pm the hotel was quiet and I slept well. Showering was better than anticipated, hot water, adequate lockable shower room. Toilets were clean and functioning. The bedrooms lock with a keypad or app on your phone. I have stayed in many hotels in the Brisbane CBD over the years and can truthfully say for the price it is good value. Some of the hotels I have stayed in charge up to four times as much and don’t even have consistent hot water. I did not need the kitchen so cannot comment. It is a heritage building so don’t expect modern and new! Overall a win for price and position.

An amazing tropical style hostel. Dorms starting from $19 and private rooms from $49 pn. Situated 20 mins walk from Brisbane City, our hostel is located in the laid-back suburb of West End. An eclectic mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars are just a few minutes stroll from the hostel. Relax in our salt water pool or catch our free bus service to the city or Southbank and soak up the atmosphere.
No shuttle bus
Reviewed By charlottenottWebsite advertised free shuttle bus. This is misleading as there isn’t a bus (which we discovered after already booking). Travel to and from the airport is expensive and cost us approx 100 dollars return as hostel is south of the city.

Opened in 1992, Manta Lodge runs a combined full service Dive Centre offering daily scuba dive and snorkel trips as well as a YHA branded backpacker accommodation facility. I've always had positive experiences with Manta Lodge in the past, so naturally booked my refresher and dives with them. My day was amazing, thanks to the fun, professional, fantastic team. My refresher course instructor Bruna was so clear and thorough and encouraging. After the refresher, I was still ambivalent about diving again, as it was pretty windy on shore. However, the team were all so supportive and encouraging; the pre-dive briefing was made so fun by James that it was relaxing. Bruna continued to be present and grounding, while it was clear that the decision to dive or not was mine alone. The dives were so great! Lots of variety of fish, gorgeous colours; octopus, eels, sharks, wobegongs. Fantastic day out, and I will definitely dive with Manta Lodge again. Thanks team!

Reviewed By Jakhon Mstayed there for a night or two a few times while going through Brisbane during various trips, the place has got a few levels so it feels like being in a submarine, walking through corridors after corridors to get to your room, definitely a good location though, I mean you've got the CBD (10 min walk) on one side and the valley - which is the heart of the Brisbane nightlife just underneath the building pretty much.

Reviewed By Eimear FStayed here July 1st when Brisbane was in lockdown, myself and my friend were booked in. We were “upgraded” to a 6 bed room with ensuing to ourselves. On arrival to the room it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned, bins full, rubbish under beds and previous stays belongings in the bedside lockers. The bathroom was also filthy and the light didn’t work. We had to ask a member of house keeping to clean our bathroom. Bathroom came with no soap or towels (despite saying they would be provided) - fair enough it’s a hostel. The sheets were dirty and unchanged. The whole floor smelled like smoke. Our room had no lockers to keep our belongings, fairly standard in most hostels. There was one plug socket in the whole room meant for six people. At this time in Brisbane there was a public health order for masks to be worn, no member of staff or other guests wore masks for our duration of stay. The kitchen was externally dirty, fridges not cleaned and one broken. The WiFi also does not work and it took us a number of hours and requests to get our bathroom light fixed. The only positive you could give it was the central location, we checked out early and requested a refund. If I could rate this place 0/10 I would. Overall do not stay here!!

We stayed for 4 nights and on the night we checked in someone had thrown up in the sink of the ladies toilets on level 2, there was still puke in the sink when we checked out. Disgusting. No one did their dishes, I jade to was everything before I used it. the showers were not very clean & hair everywhere. Do not stay here.

Best hostel in Brisbane
Reviewed By anitak582Great location with its own car park. Even if there is no spaces it’s easy to park on nearby streets where parking is free. Right next to the river and nice walks and very close to Story Bridge. Rooms are clean, each room has an ensuite. Every floor has a lounge area with big tv with netflix, couch, kettle for your coffee, small fridge and a balcony. There is rooftop where you can sunbath, do yoga or just chill. The ladies at the reception are exceptional, helped my boyfriend and me a lot. Big shout out to them! Overall amazing place 10/10!

Reviewed By LyndaMUtravelWe stayed two nights - business trip - 5/5 value; 5/5 location; 4/5 facilities; 0/5 check-in experience; overall experience 3/5 - my husband, a university professor, was demanded to produce his *passport* before they would let him check-in(!!) - NOWHERE on the booking instructions or confirmation did it state this requirement(!!!) - only to produce our Covid19 vaccination status. He was rather embarrassed & inconvenienced by this - and lucky he had a photo of his passport on his phone - else he may have been refused entry!! When I checked in the following day, I was not asked to produce anything(!!) except they couldn't find my booking(!) - they were looking under my *husband's* name instead of mine (the booking source) - just simple admin procedures that are not done correctly means unnecessary embarrassment and frustration for the guest. Finally, neither of us slept well - our room was the closest to the rowdy common area - and they didn't quieten down there to almost 10:30pm. Next time, we would choose another place to book.
