Top 10 Hostels hotel in Austria,

April 29, 2023 Tynisha Seiler

As home to majestic mountains, opulent palaces, and high culture, Austria's attractions are classically sumptuous and enduring. But beyond the waltzes, the strudels, the alpine summits, and Habsburg architecture, its modern cities are proof of just how easily Austria combines the contemporary with the historic.

Hostel Ruthensteiner ❤️

We loved Hostel Ruthensteiner! Excellent facilities including kitchen, laundrette, and lovely little touches by staff such as free lemonade and a “pay what you wish” dinner several evenings a week! Rooms were also nice, card-access only, and each bunk has an assigned locker which their key card opened and locked. Two relaxing courtyards to sit out in and enjoy the lovely weather!

Great hostel

Reviewed By Jkk193

Great stay. Lots of activities such as quiz night and walking tours. Kitchen and communal areas were amazing. Staff were really helpful. Good location. Close to metro and lots of other areas to walk round. We had our own bathroom in our room but between 6 this wasn't really enough. Would be nice if there were extra toilets or something on the same floor.

Pros: Clean, quite comfortable stay, budget hotel, near the Salzburg central train station, clean toilet & bathroom. Cons: Water pressure from the shower is a bit weak for me. ☺️All in all it was a nice hotel to stay in. Will definitely come back.

Nice stay, good location

Reviewed By Salla S

We booked twin bed private room for two nights in Salzburg with shared bathroom and wc. It was nice surprise that our room had private shower, wc was on the corridor. All was as expected. Location is halfway between railway station and old town, and it is possible to walk everywhere. Breakfast was good for its price, 3 €. It included good amount of bread and stuff with it, coffee and juice. On other day, there were also cereals. People was very nice too. And they really play sound of music daily :D

a&o Graz Central Station

This a&o in beautiful Graz is located right by the main railway station. It’s the perfect base from which to explore the city’s gorgeous surroundings by train. From here, you can walk to all the sights; the tramway stops right outside your door. There are 119 cosy single, double, family, and multi-bed dorm rooms. It also features tabletop football, billiards, a bar and book swap, a children’s corner, and a meeting room. And when we say centrally located – well, we mean it: Eggenberg Palace is just 15 minutes away.

Very good accommodation for a short stay

Reviewed By bcerov949637

This is a very good accommodation for a short stay. The room was clean, it had all the amenities that we needed (towels, toilet paper, soap). The TV is too small, but we weren't there to watch TV, so it doesn't really matter. The room (4 beds) is also small and there are no cupboards. Our room was facing the street and it was impossible for me too sleep due to all the traffic and noises. On the plus side, I didn't hear any of the guests. The breakfast is ok, but I think it's too expensive.

With our location behind the Westbahnhof train station you have perfect connections to reach us by underground, tram, airport bus or regional trains. Our house is both Hotel and Hostel which means we offer the comfort of cosy rooms with private bathroom but also the opportunity to go low budget and stay in one of the private Hostel rooms or dorms. Our guests especially love our big common areas like the spacious guest kitchen, our free billiard room, the garden and the little house bar as well as the free Wifi provided in the building.

best price to quality ratio for a backpackers hostel

if you are a "bang for the buck" guest when looking for a hotel/hostel ... This is your place... Probably, one of the most, if not the cleanest INN , I have ever slept.... It is a rainy season and I complained about odors and stinky smells in our locked dormitory.... PROBLEM was solved next morning and for the remainder of my existence there.... No problem, anymore.... my only drawback here, was the shared kitchen.... during peak hours was crowded, and some SL@VS were harassing, bullying or monopolizing the whole facility... PEW!!! WTF!! Nobody is perfect! I would be back if not for the fact and food aside.... I did not like VIENNA (Wien) city seemed to me like a B@n@n@ republic capital or any city in a COLD WAR country losing that war ... Some areas looked quite 4th world to me .... Sidewalks plenty of cracks and loopholes .... Ponds are easy with rains and lethal traps during winter snow.... dog and human p00p is not uncommon on the streets.... Museums, Castles, Gardens and Palaces are 1st world class, yet..... FOOD: I could die in Österreich eating all national food they serve..... TOP NOTCH in my book!!! WARNING: casual relationships with a fvck bvddy or your legal couple are STRICTLY forbidden in dorms.... If you are with a partner or you plan to hire a c@ll g¡rl/hvstler.... You must rent a private room

Do Step Inn Central

Tired of queuing for check-in? Why not do it yourself: We are one of Europe’s first self-check-in hostels located in one of the best areas of Vienna. With a 2 minutes’ walk from the central train station Hauptbahnhof we offer direct connections from and to the airport as well as the international train system. Taking a little stroll, you are right in the old town and the historic centre of Vienna as well as the Belvedere castle. All our dorm beds can be locked completely and thereby offer a whole lot more privacy and security. If you rather feel like chatting away, the bed can be left open and used like a normal bunk. Enjoy some fun time in our spacious common area, use our free WiFi and prepare your own dinner in our common kitchen area. Best thing, we are a family owned hostel and with only 19 rooms it stays homely and comfortable.

Quite upsetting experience

Reviewed By dorism794

+ Price Convenient location next to the train station+subway - Bed sheets are too small for the bed Still no blinds (=light from the street in the room) Check in process is time consuming on the phone, some information could be asked for during the booking. Especially the ID-picture upload isn't reliable Poor bed materasses Too less showers/toilets despite the hostel not being full at all The most upsetting point is that during our 3 days stay, we never saw anyone at the reception, despite some opening times displayed. So you can't ask for advice or an extra blanket. Online check-in can be great when it's well designed (like Citizen M) but itiabsolutaly isn't the case here.

Very good cost x benefit

Reviewed By rmazanatti

Travelling to Salzburg with my family (4 people in total) and we were checking airBNB options, however this hotel caught our attention because the value was very close to an AirBNB flat in the area. Good thing that we went to the hotel instead, as it is really a very good option, close to the old city center (<10m walking distance), very clean and friendly staff. We decided to not include breakfast, however that was a mistake on my part, because it is very convenient and there are plenty of options to eat, so the value (around 100 Euros for our four day stay) is not that bad. Really recommend the hotel and certainly will use the JUFA chain of hotels more times.
