Sandy Bottom Trail Rides

The office staff and guides were all very nice and knowledgeable with a clear love for what they do and their animals. The guides encourage questions and talk to you about the horses and the farm. The ride we took was an hour leisurely ride and was beautiful; the hills, cattle, sheep, and the sun with the falling leaves made for a picturesque ride. The facility is clean and easy to get to. I wish I would have done a longer ride to see more of the land. Overall a wonderful afternoon.

What a great hour ride we took here. Our leader on the ride BRETT? was so great. Telling us about the area, different trees, plants and took his time with the ride. We went through the creek, under a overpass and thru the tunnel, up and down the hills. The horses were great. I definitely would go again and definitely do the longer ride. The dat was beautiful!!!

End of the Trail Horseback Riding

Reviewed By gauldav - Atlanta, United States

I don’t know what I can add that others have not said. We are a family of 4, my wife was not looking forward to this, as she has had some bad experiences in the past. When you drive up you may question your decision, please don’t. Mr. Goodlow Bark’s demeanor is one that puts riders and horses immediately at ease. It is a beautiful experience, it is at the same time difficult and treacherous but the horses and the guide are immensely comfortable, sure of themselves, and in that way reassuring. The views are astonishing. Pure Magic, or Nature, or whatever is really real in a world full of fake news where information is weaponized.

We enjoyed a great ride with our 8 year old through the forest. The guide, taught our daughter all about horses. We all had a blast and really appreciated the guide taking the time to entertain our daughter in addition to how well run the stables are.

I don’t think we can say enough wonderful things about Tim and his horses. This ride was amazing even for experienced riders like my daughter & I - the views were lovely, and Tim patiently answered all of our questions about both horses and park history. The horses were amiable and gentle: our friend who came along, with little riding experience, enjoyed every minute and gladly said she’d come again.Tim even gave light riding pointers to my daughter Maddie...who immediately decided she’s going to take up western riding and barrel racing. (Thanks, Tim - there go more riding lessons. ????) We’re heading back up to Blowing Rock in the summer, and we know exactly who we are going to call to take the rest of our family on this gorgeous trail ride.

Elk Mountain Riding Company

The experience was fantastic. Robin and her crew were great and were very engaging. The trail was beautiful and changing around every corner. Our 10 year old couldn't have been more excited when Robin let her lead our group. It is clear the horses are well cared for and the barn was very nice. We have no regrets for choosing Elk Mountain Riding Company and we highly recommend them for a great time and will be returning next time we are in the area.

Biltmore Trail Rides

Reviewed By Counting_Strides - Nashville, United States

I have riding experience and have ridden many times in many states, but none compare to the ride at Biltmore. Beautiful and serene, I would highly recommend this ride to any and all. My guide, Megan, was very knowledgeable about Biltmore, its history, and the animals on the grounds. She really enhanced my trip to Biltmore. One thing I greatly appreciate is how well the horses are taken care of at Biltmore. Not only is it apparent that the horses are being well taken care of, but you can also hear the fondness that the guides have for these animals. This will definitely be on my "to-do" list the next time I go to Biltmore. Five out of five stars given for this one. TLDR: I would highly recommend this excursion as horses are well taken care of and the guide is very knowledgeable.
