This area along the water features 12 statues designed by well-known artists.
It was a beautiful fall day. We enjoyed walking along the lake and downtown. Nice area for little shopping and a meal. Restrooms by the tourist information center and Paul Bunyan Park/Statue. Paul Bunyan Park has picnic tables, benches and pavilion if you want to enjoy a take out meal or just relax.

One of the most beautiful cemeteries in the country
Four of us visited the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Sunday 30 June 2019. The highlight is visiting the Lakewood Memorial Chapel with spectacular mosaics covering its domed ceiling and walls. When completed in 1910 it was the only building in the US with an authentic mosaic interior. The stunning Byzantine mosaics of 12 winged angels cover the dome and four seated virtues, Love, Hope, Memory and Faith, cove the four corners of the interior space are based on the interior of the San Marco Cathedral in Venice. They are made from more than 10 million mosaic pieces, called tessellae, made in Venice from silver, marble, colored stone, and glass fused with gold. See photos. We had reservations for the periodic Trolley Tour listed on their website under Up Coming Events. It starts at the Memorial Chapel. At $10/person, its an informative 1 hour ride through the cemetery with an interpretive guide that enhanced our visit. Free do it yourself walking tours and brochures are available online and at the Administrative Building and chapel. Did this review earn your "Thankful" vote?

My husband I like to visit Stoney when Lake Superior is stormy!! The large waves crashing against the rocks is magnificent... in the winter..the ice crystals on the nearby trees is haunting...a small little road on the old 61 highway leads to this place right on the lake is hard to find, so ask locals how to get there!

Minneapolis' version of Main Street, with shops, cafes, restaurants and a music hall.
This was a stop on a recent bus tour where we had some time to wander around. There is still a bit of construction going on but that does not detract from the experience. The iconic Mary Tyler Moore statue is back in place and is a must see for anyone who remembers the show. There are plenty of shops and eateries in this short space.
Today, lovingly restored and renovated, Old City Hall takes its place as a historic jewel in the Zenith City's Historic Arts & Theatre District. It is a thriving event location with extraordinary details and possibilities. We've transformed the original city council chamber on the historic Third Floor into a grand ballroom that must be seen to be believed. Make memories that last a lifetime here.
