Near the Canal des Vosges, the Fort of the Great Hague is one of the 17 fortifications of the fortified town of Épinal, built between 1882 and 1884. It was part of the defense line erected by General Séré de Rivières. spreading from Dunkirk to Nice to protect the border, after the war of 1870.
