Andrea Jensen Sailing

Sailing with Rachel and Colin on Andrea Jensen an 82 year old traditional Danish gaff ketch is the ideal way to explore the spectacular coast and Marine Reserve around the Alghero coast. This way you avoid crowded beaches and get to enjoy the Mediterranean in peace and tranquility. The trip appeals to all ages. We moor in beautiful, clear, calm bays for lunch, swimming and snorkeling (equipment provided). A freshly prepared lunch is included with a choice of local wines. The food and drink that we offer is all bought fresh daily. We only take small groups so that we can provide a quality service ensuring ample space for relaxing and sunbathing. A welcome alternative to boats of the same size or smaller that take over 70 people. A good chance of watching dolphins makes this a memorable day out. You also have a chance to get involved in raising the sails. Red and White wines are bought from Santa Maria La Palma a local Co-Operative. We speak, English, Scottish and are learning Italian.

We were only here for wine tasting so the review is not on the hotel and food. We came by this place for an organised wine tasting that lasted about 1 hour. Call in advance to reserve and check the times for the tasting. For 17 eur we got to tase 4 wines, cheese and charcuterie and olive oil. The woman gave a very good explanation of the vineyard, how they work, the region and the wines. A very nice tasting and some of the wines I likes the most in the region. This place is a small producer which makes the experince very nice. Very good value for money on their wines and olive oil. Only complaint is that they could not ship bottles abroad so I could not buy as much as I wanted... recommended!

In the first part of the tour, we search dolphins: thanks to the presence on board of the marine biologists of MareTerra NGO, our chance of spotting dolphins is higher than 80%. During the navigation, a briefing will be provided to let you know more about the biology and behaviour of dolphins. Once we sighted a group of dolphins, we get closer in accord with the International Code of Conduct we adopt to minimise the risk of any disturbance to dolphins. Thanks to the photo-identification technique, we can recognise dolphins by their dorsal fins and we are able to tell you their names. In the second part of the tour, we'll discover the underwater world and its inhabitants with guided snorkeling. Our guides will accompany you and will give you guidance in the water. In this way, you can enjoy your safe snorkeling experience. On the way back to the port, you will taste an aperitif with local products.

Finally we found somewhere in Sardinia that isn’t littered with rubbish! Just wonderful. We took our bikes into the park and followed one of the trails. Highly recommend for those looking for a healthy day out in the nature. Take your own food and drinks as there isn’t anything available in the park.
