We were staying nearby Obelix and my boys enjoyed having Chicken Gyros almost every afternoon between meals. The staff were very welcoming and my husband and I enjoyed having a drink whilst we waited for the takeaway. They even have a cooling spray for those scotching days. It was also next door to our favourite gelato so it was win win win.

Best souvlaki I have eating in over 20 years. Amazing views over the bay are and nice place to enjoy dinner in smaller or bigger group. Vegatarion and fish options were a big plus compared to other taverns visited on the island.

The restaurant was recommended by a few in our resort. But honoustly we were not that enthousiastic. The staff was ok, the food was average. My daughter had chicken teryaki which was cooked too long. The moussaka of my wife was a bit dry and my sonâs meat bowl was pretty fat. I think the three stars are generous.

Good service and very tasty menu. Nice spot on the sea front and and a typically extensive Greek menu.We had the swordfish, a sharing Platter and chicken schnitzel. The sharing platter (b) was really good plenty of variety and you wonât leave hungry. All the food was good and the portions were hearty. The service was also very good. All in all a good experience.

This is a stunning location and a fantastic place to eat and drink. Dining under the shade of the old trees overlooking a lovely bay is a wonderful way to spend a few hours before spending the rest of the day relaxing on the beach.We shared a selection of the starters and âgrazedâ for hours. The service was excellent, with really helpful and friendly staff. Not easily accessible, but well worth the effort. Stunning.

Being our 1st trip Makry Gialos we strolled along the beautiful boardwalk taking in the sites and sounds of Crete.We came across this lovely restraunt and decided to stop for drinks. The owner came to greet us. Very friendly, Great good and located on the beach. The owners made such a friendly impression that we've returned day after day. Thank you for your nice comment. Would totally recommend the Lamb Osso Bucco, my favourite meal of the holiday. Very popular and the food was very good. Not the largest restaurant, and tightly packed, hence the need to book. We meant to visit more than once but they were full when we turned up. But well worth a visit.

We went here for an authentic Cretan night out. The road trip was a bit scary but the food and entertainment was great. Greek dancing and good food and drink for a reasonable price - a great night out. Would recommend going if you you like to take in a bit of the local culture.

This taverna prides itself on its fish and the owner has his own boat . However the evening we went they did not have the fish I had wanted to try . That's fishing .However I had the pork knuckle instead which as others have said is excellent served with rosemary gravy . This was our second visit to this place . The first time we chose it on the basis as the flowers and plants were well looked after the food was also likely to be good and it was . It was a place families of locals eat at . We both had the beef kleftika which came in a stew pot and was bursting with flavour and with lots of fresh vegetables . But what I wanted to mention were the starters , the baked feta cheese and the courgette pie were really good . I am guessing the slithers of courgette are baked with little pieces of feta cheese in an egg and milk . However it's made , it's really nice

Located on a very quiet beach front, west of the harbour of Makry Gialos. A five minute walk from the harbour. Closed on Mondays. Inside and outside seating, table service and bar service. We are a full service Restaurant.

We were taken here by friends who live in Makry Gialos. Weâd eaten here last year so knew what to expect. This restaurant always lives up to its reputation. I had Thai curry, just the right amount of spices. My wife had roast lamb, very tender. I wouldnât hesitate to recommend this place. Dolores is an excellent host.Thank you for taking the time to review Stratos and for your kind words and recommendations. We look forward to serving you again in the not too distant future.
