I night stay on tour of Black Forest...nice Hotel, massive room...shelterd area to park motorcycles, only let down was Monday was the Hotels night for closing Restaurant so unable to comment of food. Breakfast typical continnental.

We found this place by accident and it was a great find. They serve good, traditional German food. The service was good and, when they made a mistake with one of our dishes, they put it right quickly and offered an immediate apology. It is used by the locals, which always seems a good recommendation to me. We would go there again.

We hiked uphill for half an hour to get to this place on the recommendation of our host. Best tip we've ever had! Lovely outdoor terrace, good food which was well cooked and in large portions. We're going back tomorrow! The outdoor part of the restaurant is described as self service. You order from the counter and go back for it when they call you. The girl who served us was friendly and helpful and totally unphased by our mix of languages (English, Finnish and some very poor German). They also have accommodation on site.

On my yearly trip to the black forest, a must visit.Been going there for the past 15 years and never had 1 complaint. Rooms are also great and you can ask the owners anything you can think off. They are always happy to help!

We searched on Tripadvisor for somewhere nice to eat after visiting the Black Forest Open Air museum as we didn't want to eat at a "touristy" restaurant. After seeing the reviews we realized that this "tucked away" place was somewhere no one would ever find by accident and that it would be a beautiful place. After using google maps to get there we realized how lucky we were. Beautiful beautiful location, great food, low prices, lovely friendly staff. No English menu but the staff made a supreme effort to translate for it. I'm not giving 5 stars simply for the reason that I reserve the "5" for fine dining. This is a great place though, for both families and couples. Worth the effort to find it.

Stopped here to look at the glass works/museum, which if you have seen glass made before is probably not worth the admission. You can access the shop, which has a large display of the works products, and enjoy the cafe without going round the factory. We certainly enjoyed the cafe, the lemon cheesecake was very good as was the schwarzwalder cherry cake!

We knew this restaurant was highly rated before going there, but were still overcome by the quality of our meals. It's not just the quality of the food that makes this place special. It's everything about the experience. Very professional from start to finish. Wish we had a restaurant like this one closer to home.

We spent a week on holiday on a farm in the area this summer and dined at the Kirnbacher Hof twice during the stay. It was the best restaurant we dined at, although I must say that, although the Schwarzwald is a lovely place, do not go there for its food, which is somewhat disappointing in general. So while we had our best dinners at Kirnbacher Hof while in the area, I can't really say that the food is top notch. Still, your best bet for a good dinner. It's a friendly place too.
