Innen herrscht eine sehr freundliche und einladende Atmosphäre und die Dame hinterm Tresen war sehr zuvorkommend und nett.Man sucht sich das Essen und bezahlt und nimmt dann einen Pager mit zum Tisch. Der signalisiert dann, wenn das Essen fertig ist und man holt es sich ab. Das klappt sehr gut und auch recht zügig.Den Preis für eine Flasche Bier (3,50 â¬) finde ich für ein Selbstbedienungsrestaurant allerdings sehr sportlich. Da habe ich dann mit 3 Flaschen den ganzen Kasten bezahlt, dass ist kein fairer Preis. Natürlich soll jeder Gastwirt selbst kalkulieren und man muss ja auch kein Bier nehmen ...

Mostly on sundays after a wonderfull walk in the Teutobrger Wald we had good wine, homemade cake, tapas, hot chocolate - depending on the time of arrival.In summer wonderful seats outside with a great view - in winter a typical westfalian sight - foggy, green and grey from the inside through windows. The first impression wasn't great the building isn't much to look at and we had to go through a maze of corridors to find the restaurant, but then we found the beer garden with its nicely decorated tables and chairs with cushions and as it was to become very practical, covered tables for when it rains. One of us tried the all you can eat smoked beef barbecue -lovely, The other went for the surprise meal- you tell them what you're allergic to or can't eat and then choose meat or fish and let yourself be surprised. My tastebuds were pleasantly surprised , Plus the food looked appeasingly prepared and the service was attentive. Liked the beer too!

The Schlichte Hof is a bit outside of Bielefeld (actually a good 10 minutes drive from the center) and certainly not worth the hassle to go there. Whle the setting in an old house is very nice and actaully you sit in the old barn which has been nicely decorated the food we had was... well my girlfriend and I agreed that we would be shamed to serve such tasteless overfatted and undercooked food to any guests in our home. There really was a huge lack in basic cooking competences, so we are not talking something that has gone astray as can happen to anybody cooking from time to time.

We've been here for a birthday dinner and enjoyed the evening a lot. It's a cozy place with regional cuisine and great service. The staff is very attentive, the food was tasty and the wines were good. We are coming back for more!

OK, der Titel stimmt nicht ganz. Einmal wurden wir enttäuscht weil wir nicht reserviert hatten und dann keinen Tisch mehr bekamen. Ich denke aber, dass es für die Qualität des Graf Bernhard 1344 spricht wenn das eine Enttäuschung ist.Die Karte des Graf Bernhard 1344 unterliegt einem regelmäÃigen Wechsel. Dementsprechend findet man, als regelmäÃiger Besucher, immer wieder ein abwechslungsreiches Angebot. Zusätzlich zur Karte kann man, je nach Auslastung der Küche, auch mal ein Gericht abseits der Karte bestellen. Ich empfehle an die Stelle das Steak Strindbergh. Von Zeit zu Zeit werden im Graf Bernhard 1344 Themenabende mit Buffet angeboten, dieses schlieÃt aber á al Carte Bestellungen nicht aus. Im Sommer bietet der Graf zum einen die Möglichkeit drauÃen auf einer Terrasse die Speisen des Restaurants einzunehmen. Zusätzlich gibt es noch einen Biergarten mit einer kleineren sommerlichen Karte. Im Winter hält der Graf eine mobile Eislaufbahn bereit. Das Preisverhältnis ist ausgewogen und der Qualität der Speisen entsprechend. Noch ein Wort zu den Servicekräften: Aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Wir haben dieses Wirtshaus an einem warmen Sommertag besucht und haben einen schönen Tisch im urigen Biergarten und den alten Hofeichen bekommen. Auf der Speisekarte finden sich klassische Schnitzelgerichte, Pizzen und Kleinigkeiten, sowie saisonale Spezialitäten. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und höflich. Unser Essen war spitze. Wir hatten ein Nudelgericht und eine Pizza, hat beides sehr lecker geschmeckt. Uns hat die Friedrichshöhe sehr gut gefallen, da fahren wir bestimmt noch einmal hin. Tipp: Im Biergarten vor dem Haupthaus kann man abends noch herrlich in der Sonne sitzen und auf das Panorama des Teutos blicken.

While travelling through Europe, we stayed one night in this hotel and we enjoyed it thoroughly. After the friendly welcome upon arrival, we were shown our room at the first floor. Unfortunately, there is no elevator so bringing your luggage up is a bit of a hassle. Both the room and bathroom were comfortable and bright. We went down to the bar to have a beer before going to the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman, who arranged our drinks and brought us the menuâs. They have two, one for the restaurant and the other one for the bar/bistro area. While the restaurant menu looked very tempting, we both opted for the bar menu which offered schnitzel with bratkartoffeln, one of our absolute favourites while visiting Germany. The plate of food was gorgeous: three pieces of schnitzel, with delicious baked potatoes and a fantastic creamy mushroom sauce combined with a superb jus. And all of this for the price of Euro 8,50 p.p., which is unbelievable value for money. Together with our food we drunk a bottle of the most fantastic Grauburgunder, which made the feast complete. After a good night sleep we were welcomed by a very friendly lady in the restaurant where an excellent breakfast was served. All in all a fantastic place, where quality is king, food is fantastic and service, with a smile, is great.

I ate here twice on a recent business trip. The food was good, as was the atmosphere - low-key, around 30 or so covers, spread across three-four areas of the building, so you aren't overcome by everyone's conversations around you. There is also a bar area which you can eat and drink at.They pride themselves in the range of drinks available. Many different bottles of wine, beers, and spirits available. If you have a requirement, they probably serve it!I would recommend the Herforder Burger, which was pulled beef in a bun with some very tasty relishes and pickled veg. The 'chips' were also quite tasty.Thanks for looking after me.
