We were made very welcome by all staff and the meals were very tastyStaff went overboard to help us with our translating of the menu and the chef came to talk to us afterwardsBrilliant gastronomic experience You definitely feel full with Fränkischen Schweiz food. Try the forelle (trout) or the cordon bleu deer, or if really hungry the "Schäufele" shoulder of pork with delicious crackling!!Definitely a must as a restaurant!!Thank you staffAli & Vince ,UK

Haben 4 verschiedene Gerichte gegessen.Fazit war in Ordnung- aber nicht so der Hit, da probieren wir noch etwas anderes aus. Salat war einfallslos und geschmacksneutral.Cordon bleu trocken aber gross.Kartoffelsalat soll hausgemacht sein, das lass ich mal so stehen. Gebackene Klösse waren die Zwiebeln recht dunkel eher schwarz. Ist geschmacklich steigerungsfähig. Bier lecker und Preis im Grossen und Ganzen sehr gut.

Ein Restaurant mit Metzgerei, ein kleiner ruhiger Innenhof, freundlicher Service, groÃe Portionen (drei Scheiben superzartes Fleisch mit zwei KlöÃen beim Krenfleisch), frisch gezapftes Bier, günstige Preise - bestes Franken, nur nichts ändern! Der Chef kocht, die Chefin serviert selbst, die Qualität passt.

Went here with relatives from nearby during a visit there from the States recently. Beer was the best I've had, and service was absolutely exceptional. Food was super, and typically upper Franconian. Schweinebraten with dumplings and sauerkraut were very tasty. Not an easy place to find without GPS, as Breitenlesau is a small village; the brewery is surprisingly very big for such a "kleine Dorf".

It's not expensive, the people are friendly, the rooms are clean, and they brew their own beer which is great. A bit more attention could be given to breakfast (get there early or you'll be fighting for the scraps from the buffet), ask for a room away from the road and don't expect too much from the kitchen and you'll be fine.

The region has several small breweries and this is one of them. The plus from this is that they have own beer (though only the Zwickl matched my taste). There are quite many seats, but due to the number of visitors, a reservation is recommended. I was expecting a bit more from the food, but it was still of the normal franconian restaurant quality. One minus from me comes from the modernization done half-way with a huge TV hanging on the wall next to the 70's brown deco, or small video screens on pissoirs. Maybe one could've survived without them...

Another one out of the four breweries in aufssen, its restaurant is perhaps a bit more humble than the other ones and rather oriented to customers from the village. Good bier and sausages. The cordon bleu for 7,90 euros was very good as well.Frienly and professional waitress.

Wir waren heute auf Empfehlung eines Freundes zum Abendessen im Schonfelder Hof. GroÃer Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür, sehr freundliche Bedienung die sofort die Speisekarten brachte. Getränke kamen sehr schnell, die Bestellung vom Essen wurde auch zeitnah aufgenommen. Als Vorspeise wählte ich eine Spargelcreme-Suppe. Von der Konsistenz her perfekt, Geschmacklich (nachdem ich deutlich mit Pfeffer nacgewürzt habe) auch richtig gut. Als Hauptgericht wählte ich ein Zigeunerschnitzel. Da ich keine Kroketten zum Zigeunerschnitzel mag, wurden mir sofort Alternativen genannt. Ich wählte die Pommes. Das Zigeunerschnitzel war von der Portion her groÃ. Allerdings fehlte es deutlich an Salz und Pfeffer. Die SoÃe war mit Sicherheit eine FertigsoÃe. Sowas kann man locker einfach selbst machen. Schmeckt deutlich besser! SoÃe war auch rel. geschmacksneutral. Die Pommes waren weich und mit undefinierbarem Gewürz bestreut. Fazit: ich denke mal, es war ein Ausrutscher und wir werden auf alle Fälle hier nochmal vorbeischaun und dann erneut bewerten.

The restaurant's outdoor biergarten makes for a pleasant setting and although there is only one beer on the menu -- either light or dark -- it is very good. The food was well prepared, but one of the three meals we ordered was disappointing, one okay and one good. I'd recommend the Weiner schnitzel with potato salad, but the venison was tough. The rump steak was good, but the French fries may have been frozen. If you stick to the Weiner schnitzel and beer, you will have a very good meal at a very reasonable price.

Die Terrasse ist der Hammer, innen sehr Geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Allerdings kann ich mir nicht erklären, warum wir eine dreiviertel Stunde auf unser Essen warten mussten. Es waren lediglich drei Tische a drei Personen belegt und ein Tisch war schon beim Essen als wir ankamen. Da das Restaurant nur Abends geöffnet hat, verstehe ich auch hier die Minimalbesetzung der Mitarbeiter nicht. Beim nächsten Besuch rufen wir wohl besser vorher an, um zu fragen, wie lange wir für das Essen einplanen müssen.
