Place was recommended to us and rightfully so. The Biergarden is lovely and quiet with an nice ambiance. The food is fine and of good quality - so is the beer ;-)

I always enjoy this place. Great variety in Bavarian and elegant German cuisine. You can always find something to try, healthy or not. The chefs are excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. The portions are generous and there is something for every price range or palate. I have been coming here several times a year since 1995. I always leave the table happy and NEVER disappointed.

Auf einer Wanderung zum Kloster Weltenburg haben wir zufällig den Biergarten Klösterl entdeckt und uns entschieden, den Rückweg so zu wählen, dass wir hier einkehren können. Die kleine Speisekarte war Biergarten-typisch und völlig in Ordnung. Es gab sogar Rostbratwürste frisch vom Grill. Der Kartoffelsalat war liebevoll angerichtet und lecker. Lage und Ambiente sind einfach traumhaft. Das Klösterl liegt direkt an der Donau. Hinter dem Biergarten steigt der Fels senkrecht an, es ist sogar eine Kapelle im Fels vorhanden. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder.

The food is outstanding. We ate here 10 years ago and really looked forward to returning. Wish we had known you could stay here, as well. The service is superb even though they were very busy. They handle the crowds with professionalism and style. Great ambience and location!

Nice family business in the beautiful little village Essing. Since this restaurant is well known by the locals for their excellent bavarian home-style cooking it is advised to make a reservation. Friendly and attentive staff. Prices are average or even below but are well justified.Parking in front of the restaurant is rather difficult due to very limited number of parking spaces (owed to the narrow street and space available in general). Two minutes away is the parking ground next to the church.

We had a short notice reservation for the wedding celebration with Gasthof Ehrl. We felt home immediately, got a waitress assigned just for our wedding party, who was very attentive and friendly, and who made this an excellent experience for each of us. Thank you!Gasthof Ehrl is a typical Bavarian Restaurant with fresh hand made food. The salad buffet has a good selection with vegetable from the vincinity, and the salads are of excellent quality.

Although this review is titled under a restaurant it is also a hotel with the added benefit of a micro brewery next door which also belongs to the hotel and restaurant, the food served is great, very good quality and plentiful, the beer served is fantastic the service and welcome you receive is exemplary . The business is still owned and run by the forth generation of Schneider family who are moor than happy to sit down and give you a history lesson all about Essing and the surrounding area. The walk up to the lookout tower at Randeck is really nice but not for the feint hearted, you can take the easy option and drive up, if you opt to go to the top of the watch tower the views are amazing even if it is a little bottom clenching for those of you who don't really like heights.
