Food wise our four-week long trip through Brazil was far from successful. We have had at best average food in most places across the board (from low to high end). Brazil is just not a food-destination. However it didn't quite often get particularly as bad as it did at Thapyoka. The reason we had picked this restaurant was for its attract river-side setting, live music and the fact that we did see quite a few people eating there on most evenings. How to describe the food? We had one of their chicken preparations which can be shared by two people. It came with some quickly fried onions, some salad and french fries but really nothing else. It reminded me of my student days in Amsterdam, quickly tossing together some ingredients I had left in the fridge. I was never much of a cook but then again I also never made my profession out of it. Awful, that's all I can give it. But if the appealing view is too attractive to ignore for you just take a seat, order a beer (many on the menu!) and leave before you get too hungry.

So - they have a selection of more than 150 beers. many local brands, but also many from Europe.They have almost 40 wiezen beers!!!And they know how to deal with beer.The guy who singing was really nice, and food was tasty as well.So if you are for a beer - this is the place to start since they are not limited to one company.

Gutes Essen is a great restaurant, they have an "all you can eat" buffet with enormous variety during lunch hours and in the evening they offer a very good pizza "rodÃzio", i.e., the waiters serve different kinds of pizza while you are seated. Food quality is indisputably good and the service is excellent. This place is very cherished by locals and is a bit far from the center of Blumenau. But a very good lunch option if you are visiting, for instance, the nearby " Vila Germânica", the complex where the Oktoberfest takes place.

This pub it's located next door to the ibis hotel, going down stairs feels like a original pub lost in brazil.Many beers are available in the menu, some finger food available and also some hamburgers (not much for vegetarians).Service it's alright

Drove 40 mins from blumenau to this restaurant and was not disappointed. We had made a reservation the day before. To start off as we waited for our table on their sunny veranda, we had a round of great bierland ( local brand) weizen. A bit disappointed that the other 2 choices were brahma and skol. There is one dish served here which is roast duck with several german and some less german but great sides. Everything was really well cooked and reminded us of a christmas meal. Service was friendly and attentive. We definitely recommend it!

IMHO this is the best restaurant in Blumenau. They offer a wide range of food, including fruits and veggies, rice and pasta, sea food, white and red meat. It is a buffet and you pay according to the weight of your plate.The place is spotless clean and the service is very good as well. It is located near the city centre and they offer a parking lot in front of the restaurant. you can park on the street too. I highly recommend it.

I went for lunch, and found very good choices in "all you can eat" system, with German and international kitchen. I tried the duck, the pork knee ("eisbein"), the cabbage pickle and the sausages. Everything well prepared and tasty. Location is a plus with a nice view of the Itajai-Acu river. My host told me that the place was even better in the past, but the last floods ripped off the nice garden surrounding the river.
