Although this review seems to be for the restaurant, I would also like to review it as a guesthouse and place to stay. Chose this accomodation for one night as a base because it was close (30mins) from the Rheinfalls. Although nothing around in immediate vicinity, theres plenty in the surrounding black forest area & the guesthouse gives you a guest card that can be used for free bus/train travel or discounts off attractions in the local area. Theres only 2 rooms to stay in (i think) in this family-run guesthouse. We stayed in Apartment 1 as a family of 4. It was spacious, clean, comfortable with excellent wifi facilities & a kitchen area (tho we didnt need to use that) Theres a restaurant one floor below that serves delicious home made food. The owners/hosts were very friendly and accomodating & customer service excellent. Credit where credit is due - not many reviews on this property but i would definetly recommend this place as a base! A big thankyou to the Kranz family.

We had dinner with my cousins from Tengen in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Good service, reasonable prices, excellent desserts! I recommend the roast pork.

Avoid the back room if you can. It's Siberia. Our silverware was not set before the soup arrived, so we just sat there until a waitress realized that we lacked spoons. Our wine was opened and poured, and the bottle was left on a table in the center of the room. Alas, the waitress never returned to refill our glasses, so I did her job for her. The restaurant accepts neither AMEX nor VISA, so make sure you have cash. And count your change, because our waitress made a 10 Euro mistake.

This is a very pleasant place. We've stayed here many times over the past 15 years. Friendly owners & staff, very good food and superb Breakfast Buffet. Staff are very accomodating. The rooms are in different buildings but it's a very quiet little farming town. Rooms are spacious and clean-with a free bottle of water to boot.

We were looking for lunch on a holiday Monday, and this was the only open restaurant we could find in the area. The restaurant was filled with local families. One couple with a child moved to join another couple at a different table to open up a table for us!! How nice. The food was excellent. Staff was very good, though I'm not sure they see many Americans there! We ended up having nice chats with the staff, the elder couple at the neighboring table, and pretty much everyone who came by. What a great experience!

We went to the Easter market and sat in the sunshine and enjoyed excellent salmon and salad with the salmon coming from the home smoker outside. It was al fresco cooking supreme and the beer went down perfectly.Would recommend this place with the friendly mine host!

Es gibt im Sommer zwei Möglichkeiten hier zu essen: In der Mittagszeit mit einer kleinen Karte im Garten oder nur auf Voranmeldung am Abend. Wir wählten letzteres. Geboten wird ein Ãberraschungsmenü mit den Dingen, die die Jahreszeit und der regionale Markt hergibt. Was dann auf den Tisch kommt sind Köstlichkeiten. Der Koch versteht es, die Ausgangsprodukte so zu verfeinern, dass jeder Gang ein Hochgenuss ist. Dazu werden die passenden Weine angeboten. Der Service durch die Frau des Kochs ist ausgesprochen freundlich, für uns, die wir seit Jahren hierher zum Essen kommen, auch persönlich.

We stayed at the hotel for the night and had dinner in-house. The food was excellent and everyone was friendly. There is a good salad bar with a great variety of pickled veggies and fresh veggies. Among all of us we had fish and pork and everything was presented well and tasted good.

Every time we went there the food was great, may it be dinner, coffee and cake or just a snack, you will always get great quality of German food for a valuable price.They have a big terrace to sit outside and a playground for kids.Would absolutely recommend.
